Hello, I downloaded Apple safari 3 just to test it. It was my first time in about 10 years that I run an apple piece of software and man I am impressed. I use firefox on a regular basis and when things just don't work I run IE but there are cool things in safari 3. Nice colors display, you can resize input text areas, and GUI seems alot better than firefox, which I already find excelent but Safari's GUI is just better to me. One thing that is not really good is taht ok, safari is faster than firefox and IE but it uses more memory than the other 2 browsers, at least on my PC. So when it comes to be that I have to run alot of apps, I choose FF and when I need to browse the internet with few apps, I use safari.

What's your experience?

The only thing that I don't like about Safari is you can't drag and drop text from a page into the search box like you can in FF and the lack of plugins. Otherwise it's a dam fine browser. I still use FF as my main browser on Mac and PC though. Old habits hard to break. IE now a distant 3rd.

Safari for Windows is the fastest and easiest-to-use web browser for the PC. It displays web pages faster than any other browser and is filled with innovative features -- all delivered in an efficient and elegant user interface.

They are including safari as part of the Itunes update in windows... it is checked by default even if one does not currently use safari.

I like Safari and think it's the best browser by far on the Mac but Firefox works exactly as I like it on the PC so there's no way I'll be switching to anything else. Bundled this with the fact that Firefox 3 is faster than Safari and it's a hard sell for me to even consider anything else anyway.

Though Firefox sucks on the Mac (didn't try FF3 which supposedly fixes all the GUI problems that FF2 has on the Mac).

I also don't like that Apple is forcing Safari on PC users with the iTunes update. At least uncheck it by default.

I can't even consider using Safari until it has a mouse gestures addon. What good is a faster renderer if my interaction with the browser itself is significantly slower than on FF or Opera?

You are talking to a Safari user.

I personally LOVE Safari and it is the only browser I use on my computers.

My main gripe is that the fonts look like ass. It also seems incredibly... bland. It's a nice browser and all but that's the extent of it. Opera comes with a widget engine and Firefox can run tons of extensions. What does Safari offer other than a boring interface and crappy font display?

I love Safari 3 for Windows.
I was using Firefox for a long long time.
But i just got burned out on it.
Safari is my new favorite browser.
I hope they add plugins in the future versions though.

Firefox is still king if you ask me, but considering apple has just opened up it's photo editing app and the number of people trying to code for the iPod. With a few short moves Safari could start to challenge for the top slot. Obviously this is top slot as best browser not most popular, but can MS hang on to the lead with two better alternatives or can they turn IE round before they loose too much market share?

I think IE turned around with IE7, I really have no need/want to use firefox anymore.. though I still have it installed.
