Damn it! I've just downloaded the latest Ut2k3 patch but it's all f_cked up!
For example... sometimes I delete a thing and... TADA!... Critical Error... or do I want to have fun changing all the textures?? TADA!... after 5 minutes.. critical Error.... and restart computer another time... try to make a real sphere?? TADA... critical error!! images/icons/mad.gif images/icons/mad.gif images/icons/mad.gif

I can't think to start learning this damn thing if it crashes every 2 minutes!!
Anyone has got my same problems??

1. did you apply any unrealed fixes after applying the patch? if you did, that's bad.
2. are you running xp or 2000? if not, forgot about editing, because every other OS can't handle unrealed with any degree of stability.

i only had problems like that when i was using windows 98.

1. The UnrealEd patches don't work at all because the program crashes at the splash screen images/icons/frown.gif

2.I've got Win98... I planned to switch to WinXp.. but I don't have friends who have it (because I don't wanna spend my own money).
And I'm italian, so all the english warez stuff can go to the hell.

I'm running XP, had some problems with crashes too in the UnrealEd 3. Thou it's much more stable that the first UnrealEd.
Hope they fix the patches or that the released UnrealED to Unreal 2 is more stabler.
By the way, I love the editor images/icons/smile.gif

I also have Win98, but I don't experience crashes anymore with UnrealEd1 and 2, because I installed fixes and latest VB runtimes. It runs stable all the time, no matter if I run the UnrealEd of Undying or the UnrealEd of Deus Ex or any other UnrealEd version. images/icons/smile.gif

What you have to do is to install the latest VB runtimes (vbrun60.zip)!

Sorry, I haven't bought UT2003 yet, so I don't have UnrealEd3, but I'm sure that you just need to install all those fixes and patches which were exclusively released for UnrealEd.

^ Eh! I love The editor too!
I've just tried to add a static mesh right now... no way!!

Hope that 3DRealms will spend a lot of time in beta testing... 'cause if even DukeEd will have this problems Im really gonna suicide! images/icons/wink.gif

I had problems to the point that I would save after every tiny little change for fear the editor was goig to crash. Then I was using Win98SE and a machine that did not meet the on box requirements of UT2K3.

Now I am using XP and have not had a sinlge problem with the editor.

Moral of the story: Under Win98 UED3 is unstable. Live with it and save VERY often.
