For the last five months or so I have been bsy mapping. Anyways I am here to pimp my latest creation. images/icons/smile.gif
Welcome to the volcanic world of Gohgoran. Not so long ago it was the site of a horrific alien invasion. The terraformers caught in the invasion made their stand at the processing and purification plant. Each year that final stand is re-enacted at the Gohgoran purification plant. This map is large and suited to DM/TDM/Invasion/LMS. The layout provides for a mix of slow and frantic action.
When I say big the map was originally designed to hold up to 28 players. That number has been scaled back to a 12 - 20 player load. Suitable for LMS but that last 1 on 1 could take a while. LOL

I downloaded it. it looked neat, but it's too hallway-ish to me.

Yeah. That was part of the design. It was suppsoed to hold 28 players online so I had to have long flat walls to place big anti-portals on.
The result was lots of hallways.

Yeah, i remember you saying that. It took several minutes to find another bot on here.
I think i had 6 bots on there.

Good texturing and lighting, widowmaker. I couldn't make it better.
However, to make it look even more stylish I would add a static spotlight in brownish yellow color shining through some of the windows (the ones in your screenshot where you can see the yellow sun over the landscape outside). Not too bright, not too big, radius not bigger than 16, location above windows and some meters outside the room, pointed in direction of the very left window (seen in that screenshot), pitch from 2048 to 4096. Or you could create a very hug spotlight located above the base and pointed at the base. You'll get the idea.
This would create interesting shadows in that room and catching the eyes of players entering the room at any time. In other words: you intented to create a dark room with some shadows and a few lights, but it would look much cooler with dark sun shining through the windows and creating shadows and light on the floor and some walls. images/icons/smile.gif

I am at it again. Another map for the UT2003 pile.
This is a map I have created for the Ice Cold Executioners Clan. It is IG only and designed for 10 players either DM or TDM. The theme is western. The concept is to recreate the feel of being smack in the middle of an old western movie gun fight. There is access to most of the roof tops, wagons for cover, broken windows to shoot from, etc... Since the town is left over since the late 1800's the buildings are mostly empty. That was intentional. And one last warning the flow is like a black hole sucking everyone into the center of the map where all of the carnage takes place. In many places the travelling time to the action is 0 - 3 seconds. So you are never far away from the center of the action. I do hope you enjoy the map.

Just too bad that I can't check out this map, because I can't play UT2003 on my low-end Voodoo2 system.

That is too bad.
I thnk this is about as far the opposite direction as Gohgoran as I could get. From an all indoor endless hallway running running running to find your opponent map, to a mostly outdoor opposing players in your face nowhere to hide fragfest. The only hallways that exist are the two in the second floor of the hotel.
The real question of course is what to do next. I have CTF pretty well covered, got Dm covered now. Hmm maybe a Bombing Run or Domination map next.

Everyone likes the town one but keep asking for it to be for the normal weapons set. I am working on that but the map runs really slow with all of the items in there.
There is a neat six shooter mutator that goes well with the map. images/icons/smile.gif
