To answer the thread's questions btw - Still Life was a decent enough game in a sea of mediocrity. There were some pretty good puzzles, one agonizing baking puzzle and the story sort of left us wondering "what the hell?". In all I enjoyed it more than I hated it. :D

The second game appears to be fully 3D rendered this time, at least from screenshots and that rather short teaser (is that in-game or a cinematic?). I'm looking forward to it as I think the devs probably learned from their mistakes and should answer some of the leftover questions about the odd ending.

Microids ran out of money. I think it was the last game they released before they sold of their Canadian branch to Ubisoft. One of the designer said that 2 time periods was cut out and the alternate ending went down the drain as well(catch the killer).

In fact, the clue on who is the killer is actually in the final games.

Except really - it felt like a major cop out.

I mean come on, we don't even SEE the damn killer. Just 'bang' and let's pretend he's gone. That blew my mind that they'd stoop to such a silly ending.

And how did you come to the conclusion that this is an FPS based on that? Because some of the camera shots were in first-person? Christ.

Anyway I've never played the first Still Life (not really into adventure games) so I have no idea what's going on in the teaser, but hopefully it makes sense to fans of the first game.

I'm not saying they are the same game, but I am thinking that mabey one game (Still Life), is namend that way to mabey take advantage of the popularity of Half Life.

So in a one minute trailer, they show us the combine-looking guy for about 10 seconds of it. I think thats more than just a coincidence...they're trying to capitalize a little on HL's success by getting a few HL fans to check this game out...thus the name "Still Life" and the Combine-looking guy in the trailer. I know I wouldnt of even opened the thread, except the name grabbed me.

You know I wouldn't go around admitting to such nonsense, as it reflects on you not the game nor the developers. Still-Life is named as such because it's about a murderer who centers around art. You know, Still Life? The art style? Hence the name.

I mean really man, you'd have to really reach to think an adventure game is trying to lure in shooter fans with a name.

No games are ripping off of it. It wasnt close to as perfect of a game as you'd like to believe.
