I have a couple of games that I have multiple copies that should be played by someone and not sit on my desk forever. The plan was to take them to EB and get store credit but yesterday I was hit in the head by a toilet paper roll and I have changed my greedy ways!
I see you guys are anticipating Duke and this is good cause good things come to those who anticipate.
1 copy of Wheel of Time
1 copy of Star Trek Voyager
1 copy of Vampire Redemption
1 copy of Unreal Tournament
5 copies of TA Kingdoms

Just tell me what you want and why I should give it to you. I have no rules so just fight amongst yourselves and the people that catch my attention will get what they want.

The games are still unopened and in there boxes!

If you can't think of anything start your sentence with this.... Ruben your better than Charlie, Joe, George and everyone on the DNF team because....

I will check it from time to time and update you guys on who is getting what untill all my supplies are gone!

Ruben, you're SO MUCH better than Charlie, Joe, George and everyone on the DNF team because you've got much better fashion sense and taste. It is for this reason alone that I know you'll send me Star Trek Voyager, but You're also much better looking, smarter, funnier, and your personal hygiene is above reproach.

Some of the posts in this forum are quite good, but They're all lacking - Nodoby can give a legitimate reason why they should have the game - I can.

I am really a Vulcan. It's only logical that the only REAL LEGITIMATE Vulcan on the forum should be given the Star Trek game.

Also, None of the other UBB members are suited to play the Star Trek game - If you look very closely, the Star Trek box says:
"This game is only Suitable for Vulcans who are 3DR UBB members and dead Klingons. This game will cause death or worse (ie: Employment at JeffK Industries or ID software) in Humans".
It's written in VERY small letters in the Klingon language, right underneath the rating. If you give the Star Trek game to anybody but me, you would be:

a) Defiling the name Star Trek and everything the federation stands for.

b) Depriving a poor, homesick Vulcan of a good dose of Star Trek Action

c) Sentencing a UBB member to Death or worse (Unless UBB member is a dead klingon but that would be a waste because a Dead klingon is hardly going to have time to play the game.)

d) Giving in to the illogical rants and threats of immature lifeforms

Badger puts in a good case for the Star Trek game, but IMO he just doesn't make the grade - He eventually resorts to threats. Threats are Illogical, and are often used by emotionally unstable and disfunctional entities. Badger should be given a copy of Tetris or The Incredible Machine because these games will help speed his mental evolution. Give him 10 years on The Incredible Machine, and badger will be ready for something like a Star Trek game.

I would take any of those games you offer, Ruben. Just owning a game that has once been touched and used by the actual Ruben Cabrera will make me an extremely happy person. If I died then on the spot, I will go happily knowing that my life was complete.

I probably won't get this because I never win. It's like a nerd thing or something. But if you don't try...

Look, I live in Australia and basically here games are far more expensive then over there. Twice the price but the same salaries.

Right now my dad is planning to see his mom(back in the old country) who just had a stroke and stuff. Well she's really bad and because he's going back there we'll need a hellova lot of money. The ticket is 3000 by itself, and then there is some money we have to give relatives. See, we come from Yugoslavia and well, that place basically is falling apart. And all the family back there would need some money.

Well all that rounds up to 6000 dollars AU. And that's a lot. Expenses have been cut to the bone and frankly that means no moneys for the game.

This is why I'd like you to send me Unreal Tournament or Wheel Of Time - I want them both. WoT because I'm a Robert Jordan fan and I just cracked open Path Of Daggers, and UT because I love the game (just played the demo again and it blew me away) and I want to use UED too and make some really cool levels (I'm a aspiring level designer/texture artist). Well that's basically why I would like these games.

And there is another reason - I wanna win for a single time... I mean I've never WON. Not a single thing. Arguments with friends and enemies in school. Races of all kinds, even when I KNOW I'm better then the other guy/girl. I generally lead a miserable life that seems to screw me over at every turn - help me out man, it would be really cool if I could have one of those two games. Either will be fine.

Eh, well, I tried. Keep in mind man. I'm not trying to guilt you in anything, I just thought that this would be cool to have. After all, I love both games... I'll give em a good home. I promise. Their CD's will be kept clean and dust free just like all my other games. And their boxes will be hung on walls like posters... or better yet trophies.

I would be happy with any one of the games listed. I think I should be one of the lucky winners for several reasons, which are:
1) No one else has pointed out that neither Charlie, Joe, or George is famous enough to have a sandwich named after them, unlike you.
2) Unlike these "poor students", I actually have the money to purchase 3DR's products. If I had to purchase any of the above games, it would just be less money spent at 3DR.

The rules then. In the beginning there are nine people and a possible £10,000 up for grabs – and that's a lot of money for a daily game show, let alone a BBC daily game show. Questions are fired off to people one at a time over a time limit which starts at 3 minutes and gets 10 seconds lower after each round. For each correct answer they get a 'link' in the 'chain' which begins at nothing and gradually goes up towards a thousand pounds through nine links, the values between each link getting higher each time. There is a thousand pounds maximum to be won in each round.

Continue until only two people remain. Yes, that's seven rounds that are nearly identical. There's then a kind of a bonus round where the two finalists work together for a 90-second round and the winnings are trebled (quick! call Action Time!).

Once Anne has told them how rubbish they were for a final time, they decide who wins the pot by virtue of a quiz in the style of a penalty shootout competition. It looks like the batteries in the Anne Robinson robot starts leaking voltage at this point as the gaps between her phrases get longer and longer in what can be described at best as a way of increasing attention and at worst as a way of being incredibly annoying: "What colour is... the... character... of Colonel... Mustard... represented by in the... game... C... l... u... e... d... o?".

In the final, each player has to step forward to the single podium to receive the questions which is actually quite annoying and looks very A-Level Theatre Studies. The winner gets all the money run over all the rounds. The loser wins nothing.

Actually a signed WOT box would help pay for my wife's upcomming surgery, she has to get her spit glands replaced. First of all Ruben, this is extremely cool of you.

Now, as a member of a software development team, I have first-hand experience working with programmers and artists. In fact, I help manage both. I myself am a coder at heart, but I dabble with Photoshop when I get the chance. What I have learned, is that the artists help keep a project alive. What I mean by that is, when everyone is pulling their hair out to meet a crazy deadline, the artist is the one who does something stupid or outrageous to lighten the mood and ease the tension.

Also, the artist can take the code and make it look beautiful. The greatest tech and the smartest team, still needs help presenting the software in a meaningful way. An intuitive looking gui and beautiful images can make the experience of using software for the first time much easier. Plus, it provides familiarity. One can predict the function of an object based upon its symbol, if that symbol is apparent and consistant throughout the project. Artists make that happen.

Other than explaining why artists help show the beauty of a software product, I would like to mention that as a huge gamer, and a fan eagerly awaiting DNF, I must find something to pass the time. I've recently played SOF, and I liked it a lot, but since then, my gaming library hasn't budged. It would be very cool if I could get your copy of Vampire, as I wanted to play it when it came out, and I followed the development a little bit. It seems like the tech is very interresting, and the different locales ages, and alterations of the characters provide excellent opportunity for some unique and truly beautiful art. This is a game I've wanted to see in action for a while, and never got the chance.

RUBEN PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I'm sending this message from deep space, where I'm cloaked and hovering just out of scanning range of a Borg cube.

I had to go to the Vulcan homeworld last night for a meeting with the Author of the upcoming book "Why Texture artists are better than Mappers, Codesmiths, and Satan". The Author of this book is the single most intelligent and influential Vulcan who ever lived.

Anyway, I went to Vulcan, spoke to the Author, and collected the manuscript to take back to Earth for publication, but on the way back, I was attacked by the Borg! The borg left me alone, but only took the only manuscript of this new book! They seem like the codemonkey type and they obviously intend to subverse this work of incredible beauty and power and release a modified version "Why CodeSmiths , Mappers and Satan are better than Texture artists". As you can see, this would be a horrible catastrophe and would turn the world upside down (since everybody knows that texture artists are better in too many subtle ways to name)

Here's where you come in:

What I need to do is infiltrate the borg cube and reclaim this precious manuscript from their evil clutches before they can begin their terrible scheme. The problem is that I have no combat training - Being a Vulcan myself, I'm normally a pacifist and abhore violence. What i need from you is a (signed) copy of the Star Trek Voyager game so that I can use it to train myself for my lone offensive against the Borg. Hopefully with your help I can reclaim this work and bring it to Earth to be published.

If you help me in this small way, I'm sure not only I but the rest of the universe (Except the borg) will thank you.

Apart from the fact that artists are the best people in the world, giving away stuff they don't need (to me), and always thinking of other peple.

The real reason is probably the fact that it is easy to see and apreciate a good piece of art but most people (hopefully) don't see all the bugs that have been fixed, the doors that didn't work and stuff like that which the coders and mappers do.

Dear Ruben,

You ask me why you should give me one of your games? Well, I will explain. First of all I want to say that I would be happy with each game that you would send me but I would like Unreal Tournament the most. I have a coppy but the cd is scratched. Lucky for me I could find a crack but now I'm stuck with version 400d. I can play the original UT but none of the mods because I can't upgrade. Secondly I can't practice Unrealed(2) so I can make kick ass levels for DNF when it's out. So far I have two levels planned on paper but if I can't practice now it will take me at least 4 months to learn how to use the editor and make the maps.

Our own Ruben Cabrera has formed his own rock band, "Ruben Cabrera & The Overlords of the Code Monkeys". In the band with him are Tim Wilson on guitar, Matt Wood on drums, & as the code monkeys: Scott Alden, Brendan Reinhart, & Jess Crable.

With his new found popularity, Ruben has a cover article in an upcoming Rolling Stone magazine with tips on becoming a rock star on your own, without having to quit your day job to do it.
