Prey was the game that got me into fps's. I loved it for mac but my macbook couldn't really cope and now with a gaming pc I was really looking forward to seeing Prey at it's best.

However, when installing it on Vista 64 bit, it came up with "Setup detected the following problems while reviewing your system configuration: Adobe Flash(tm) Player".

Having the latest update of the Flash Player I found this rather irritating. When I tried "AutoFix" everything seemed to be fine and "Adobe Flash Player Plugin Setup: Completed".

Then the setup thing had found the same problem. But the autofix button was disabled and the game still wouldn't install.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if it is just me being dumb, feel free to virtually slap me.

PLEASE HELP

Maybe you can ask 2K Games (usa@take2support.com) for support, they seem to be rather helpful. There are also some Human Head people on this forum, but I don't know if they check regularly.

Thank you to Wellenreiter for the point in the right direction but for anyone in the same position as me, I followed http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2153/vista_adobe_flash_player which fixed all my flash problems.

I'm not sure what Flash would have to do with this, since Prey doesn't use that.

Also, the HH people don't come around anymore, I believe.

It said it needed it to install.

Something is wrong on your end my good man. It does not need flash to install :o

I think this maybe is a "service" of the InstallShield installer, not directly related to the game.

It may have something to do with the fact it is a "Sold Out" copy of the game so it isn't an original copy.

Ah, I see. I have painkiller game CD with the "Sold Out" logo, etc..

Finished prey. Should have tried to stretch it out a little more...

Although, has to be one of the best story lines of any game.

Yeah, they have made their own installer, but you can launch the Prey one from the DVD if you manually do it :) Just for future reference.
