Hi,

I've recently updated my Duke3D with the newest files. I have the HRP, Update Pack, Maphacks, Music Pack, SD_Duke Mod & XXX Pack with the latest EDuke32 Snapshot.

It has always worked before with all these files, but now as soon as I shoot a weapon the game instantly closes.

Any ideas?

I don't know why but it was happening to me as well when I used Eduke with Duke Meets Doom TC. I don't really know how to solve... Try to not include the SD_Duke Mod and try again, that may work.

Hi,
as soon as I shoot a weapon the game instantly closes.

Same here using Duke Plus, but only on random occasions. Are you saying it happens to you every single time you fire?

Yes, every single time I try to fire it closes. Everything else works.

Post these files as attachment:
1. Eduke32.log
2. Recorded gameplay in a DMO file(option->game setup->record demo).

I couldn't find the recorded demo, but here's the log. It seems my save file is corrupted? A normal new game worked fine now.

The forum says the log is too big, so I'm uploading it somewhere else, as it's too big to post as well.

May I give you some suggestions? First, don't use turboupload. Second, make a rar file and add eduke32.text in it. THEN attach it here. It should lessen the file size to fit forum's needs.

Post the corrupted savegame then.

As for the log. I can't see anything that would explain the crash. Though notice that the game wasn't able to find "sd_duke.grp" and "sd_duke.zip" files which were supposed to be placed in the folder where EDuke32 is.

Well this is where my sd_duke.grp and .zip are located, should be fine right?

And even when .rar the save game is still too big to attach, so I've uploaded it.

It's not a big issue, but any ideas on it so I could avoid having it happen again?

1. It doesn't make a big difference of where to put these files. It will work. The placing them in the game folder is a better option because you will have an ability to play the game without the mod or run another mod. You don't have to change anything though in your case though.

2. The savegame was really corrupt. It somehow had no compiled CON code inside(zero size). I don't know how it could happen.
