So I made the mistake of renting this movie thinking it would be an average action flick with some decent CG. Boy was I wrong!

This movie is AWFUL. Easily enters the pantheon of worst movies I have ever watched. It's probably on par with Battlefield Earth and Dungeons and Dragons, two other cinematic atrocities I unfortunately witnessed.

Let's run down the list

Production value?

Bad. The movie has the look of an early 1990's film. Terrible bluescreening and overall just annoying cinematography.

Plot?

Bad. They use a narrator to tell you things like "their feelings grew over the years until they were greatly in love" instead of actually giving you anything of substance to make you connect to the characters and believe they are in love. They also have these coincidental prophecies that the audience has never heard of before being fulfilled to explain something ludicrous.

He talks to a speartooth, so now he has an army! Wait.. what?

Acting?

Just plain bad. This might be why there was so much narration. No excuse though.

Character Development?

Bad. The characters do not grow and change in any fashion. Every character acts identically.

Lastly, this movie include the character "Old Mother" who is easily one of the most annoying characters I have ever seen. Basically its just this old woman that they cut to every now and then throughout the story who is in some kind of catatonic state for no explained reason, with surrounding people fretting over her and holding her hands or some crap.

---------------

If you have watched this movie, feel free to give your opinion. Or, if you have a different crappy movie that you have seen, you can also rip on it here.

I thought it was entertaining. Besides, it's a fantasy movie.

Camilla Belle is a very beautiful girl.

I've looked her up on IMDb and she reminds me a bit of Leelee Sobieski, who played a minor role in the pretty shitty movie Deep Impact that I saw last night.

In short; too much visual blandness, too much nonsense, too much America, too much christianity and way too much Téa Leoni.

She had a bigger role in the Pacino movie that tanked - 88 Minutes.
Her and the red-head (Alicia Witt) were the highlights of that movie.

I didn't hate 10,000 B.C., but I'm in no rush to see it again. The costume design reminded me of Apocalypto.

My flight from Boston was delayed a month or so ago. They gave us free movies, and one of them was 10,000 BC. I stopped watching after 15 minutes because it was absolutely terrible.

Instead I watched Jumper, and it seemed like a work of art in comparision LOL

Oh 10,000BC is so incredibly terrible but I did have more fun than a few other of the major offenders this year. Mainly those preists (or whatever they were. I can't recall) with the long fingernails when they were freaking out and running away or "cheesing it" as many would say.

Also that it turned into "owe my balls" for a while.

Oh and it's about the only film I've seen in recent times that the DOP couldn't even expose the film correctly. Some scenes were so underexposed that they must have had to push the the film 3 to 4 stops just to make the content visible. HIDEOUS!

I saw this at the movies and I liked the very end of the movie, where it actually revealed what was going on, but I agree with a lot of the other stuff about how the movie was overall not good at all.

I thought it copied the end of 300, except our "hero" actually hit his target.

I really dislike reading threads like these cuz I end up somewhat liking the films that have been trashed out in here.

Anyways i havent seen this flick but the trailer is awesome.

I will still watch it when I get a chance.

Hilariously bad movie. I rented it just to see it and make fun of it. It was awesomely awful. Also I saw it while I was right in the middle of reading Guns, Germs, and Steel. The difference between reality and the movie was awesome. :D

I actually thought it was alright. I looked at it more as an art piece than anything else. The cinematography was pretty good in some places actually- but I do agree that the plot was a bit off.

The girl playing Evelin or whatever her name was was very pretty. ;)

Hah, I knew I recognized her from something. She was in "The Chumscrubber". That was probably even worse than 10,000 BC. She should probably try to find some better roles. :p

I thought it was pretty good, not as good as Apocalypto though
