The game runs ok but i have herizontal lines, that flash across the sceen, in the menu and during the game. I have the Nov 2000 drivers that have been modified, from voodoo files, but they make no difference.
Any Ideas guys, help would be appriciated.

Try to change from 16 to 32 bit this could help.
Turn V sync on but this will probably not solve your problem.

I have a Voodoo5 in my machine here at 3DR, and I've never messed with any settings, and don't have any problems.

I've got the same card, and had similar problems previously with several games. But it seemed to happen only on shutdown of the given games.. I would get weird, snowy horizontal snowy lines rolling diagonally across my screen, along with horizontal banding.. The only thing I could do to make it go away was either restart, or start Combat Flight Sim2 and shut it back down.. (have absolutely no idea why this worked)
Two weeks ago, I yanked out my mobo and proc and upgraded them both.. Problem solved, a happy side effect for me..
Sadly, this was a known issue 3dfx was working on when they chaper 11'ed.. It was never resolved.. I'm not sure whether this was an issue with the mainboard, or the proc.. I was convinced it was just an annoyance I had to live with.. Anyway, my specs prior and now if it helps... (gotta understand, a hillbilly with no technical knowledge built this.. Me images/icons/grin.gif , I need to brag a lil)
Before:
Biostar crappy Biostar mobo M6TWG
Celeron 433 oc'ed via fsb to 488 (this is a huge boost for any celeron owners.. fsb is your biggest limiting factor)
V5 5500
SB Live! X-Gamer
320 MB RAM (Grrr @ only 2 dimm slots)
Cheap Maxtor 13 GB who knows how fast drive (it was slow)
For a lil over $300, I upgraded to
Abit KT7A mobo
1000 MHz AMD Tbird images/icons/grin.gif happy happy joy joy!! images/icons/grin.gif
V5 5500
SB Live! X-Gamer
384 MB Ram (Yayyy for three dimms)
30 GB 7200 rpm Maxtor
Kay enuff bragging now.. As I said, this is a known issue with that card, and the only way I was able to rid it (accidently mind you) was a major upgrade.. I'm thinking mobo may have been the issue.. good luck

I'm having the same problems with my Voodoo5.
I'm using XP, so I'm going to be a special case. I switch drivers to the WinXP Voodoo drivers, but now the game says I don't have enough card memory to play at even 800x600x16bit. So I'm going to go back to the 3dfx drivers and try different compatability modes.
System:
Athlon800
256megs RAM
20gig HD
Voodoo5
SB Live 5.1
Ricoh CDR/RW

For me: Change the buffer from trilinear to bilinear. No more lines or choppiness or bad things or anything. Works great.

Thanks for all your help guys, i'm yet to try most of them.
I too am on the verge of upgrading my proc. amd mobo, maybe it will help.
In the mean time I have put my old Voodoo Banshee in and that works fine, apart from the odd PC lock up. I assume this another issue for another thread.

Have you tried the latest official drivers? Go here to get it: http://www.3dfx.com/downloads.htm
Go there and get the 1.04.01 beta.
Also, if that doesn't fix it, you can get a beta driver that are unofficial: http://www.gamers-ammo.com/teste/x3dfxc.shtml
Go there and get the 1.08.00 beta.
Edit: Looks like the unofficial drivers were pulled down because a lot of people were slamming their server hard. The above link was to the driver set. I'll see if I could mirror it sometime later on. Here's a link that you should visit though: http://www.gamers-ammo.com/3dfxmod.shtml

I had the same problem as some of you guys, the vertical images crossing the screen. So I went to fileplanet.com and download the beta version for W2K, santo remedio, my problems went away, I can play even at high resolution, best graphics. The only thing is that I get killed too fast.
