View Full Version : Can Max Payne run on my computer?

this is my computer
-Win 98
-550 AMD ATHLON
-192 pc100 megabytes of SDRam
-8 meg savage4 video card

the video card is the main concern seeing is how Max payne requires a 16mb video card?

You could try downloading 3DMark 2001 from Madonion.com.

If you get benchmark scores above 900 the game should run (although we've seen reports from people with scores as low as 700 saying that the game runs fine on the computers).

I saw the game running on a Celeron 733, 384 meg ram and a TNT 2 PCI card. All detail on low and it ran.

Although at about 10-15 FPS and looked a bit bland.

Max Payne will play on just about any rig though.

Not withstanding anything - get a new video card. I think the min recommended card is 16 megs. 32 would be more reasonable (my is a Voodoo5... it claims 64 megs but I'd rate it at 32. Runs nice, though.

Your graphics card will be a big drawback!

Hey I didnt know AMD did an athlon at 550? Did you mean K6-2?

Im a Hp 667 and i can run on everything medium!!! Except I get really crummy sound!

max runs great on my comp

400 mhz celron
asus p2b mobo
192 mb ram
monster mx300 sound
3d prophet (geforce) w/ latest det. beta drivers
win 98

have most effects set to medium and particles and variations set to high at 800x600x32. no skippin whatsoever
