I installed the game and got direct x 8.0. The game worked the 1st time i wanted toplay it so i shu my comp down and restarted. Now the game wont load it says winmm.dill has perforemed a illegal operation what do i do to fix this.

have you updated your drivers on your soundcard and video card? also, have you checked to see if your system doesn't have any irq conflicts?

How do i update the sound drivers and stuff. I got direct x 8.0. Whats an irq conflict.

I had the same problem - most likely it will be a problem with the sound card - so check if you have a real soundcard or just - like me - an onboard sound chip AC97 - the cheapest card solved my problem - and check that you have the newest drivers for this and also the graphiccard.

The read me file on the cd tells you which driver version you was checked für your graphic chip.

So better luck next time.
