Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could answer a video editing question, specifically to do with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.
I'm new to Premiere, I've just been using it and Adobe After Effects for the last few days to do some simple video compositing.

I just tried to import a video file- it's .mpg, copied from a video camera. The audio works fine when I play it in Windows Media Player, but when I import it into Premiere there is no audio. I tried exporting it to an .avi, and there's no audio when I play the exported file.
So what's going on here? Why isn't Premiere importing the audio, and what can I do about it?

Regards,
Sharman.

You could try opening it in something like Virtual Dub perhaps, and ripping the audio to a wav, then load your audio from that in Premiere.

The solution I'm using atm is to open it in MovieMaker (urkk), publish the video I want, then use the end result of that in After Effects to do what i want. Cumbersome, but it'll do.

My guess, looks like Adobe has managed to screw up your MPEG2 setup...
