Lock Up On Exiting Game

The game is fantastic, however one very anoying part of it is that when i exit/quit my system locks up, and the only way after all of the usual remedies ctrl/alt/delete, to restart my computer is to hard boot it. Could you please advise how i can overcome this as i have all of the latest drivers available.

System
1.3gig amd athlon
512 mg sd ram
3d prophet gforce3 card
windows98/me

Either of these workarounds WILL work:

1. run dxdiag and turn your sound acceleration down.

2. use device manager (in control panel) to disable the "wave device for voice modem" if you have one.

This is the same bug I had.

Some of you may be saying "Hey draz, I thought you didn't have problems with Max?" Well, I didn't until I spent my tax return.

Side note - Wives are funny people. We've been saving for the new baby, then outta left field she tells me to get a new computer! Before you think I have the greatest wife on earth, what she was thinking when she said that was "My computer sucks, get yourself a new one so I can have yours..." images/icons/wink.gif Either that or she bought a thousand dollar dress. images/icons/tongue.gif

Also, if you want to see something funny, watch a pregnant woman play Max, screaming "Eat lead you bastard!". I nearly busted a gut laughing!

PNY Geforce 3
512 Micron DDR memory
Epox 8K7A motherboard
Win Me/Win 2000

Seems like a Geforce 3 issue? Should be something Remedy can duplicate.
