Max Payne = Blue screen of death

im sure you get *******s like me on here all the time but i would appreciate it if you would help me!

i installed it and started the tutorial, after firing a gun it crashed amd we got a blue screen error. Realsing our graphics card drivers were out of date we updated them to the version stated in the Readme file. However the same thing happened once more, the error message we recieve is as follows -

A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028:316B8AB6 in VXD TRIWNW(01)
+ 0003CA46 The currant apploication will be terminated.

we then press eneter to try and continue the game and get-

A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028:C16B846D in VXD TRIWNW(01)
+ 0003C3FD The currant apploication will be terminated.

Then if we press enter the computer totally freezes and we are forced to restart.

But! i played the SP got to the station and it crashed again with some error message which refered to another one, its all greek to me.

Our system specs are-

Packard bell platinum serries
733mhz pentium 3
_NEC DVD-ROM DV-5700A
128MB of system ram
nVIDIA riva TNT2 pro 32MB graphics card (driver 12.41)
PCI288-Q3D II(NX) pci audio sound card
Logitech wheelmouse1 (PS/2)

I think your soundcard is the problem here, try upgrading it's drivers, or disabeling 3d sound.

right, i disabled the sound and that worked but i want sound!! Does anyone have a Packard Bell Platinum Series PC???? If so Reply NOW!!! whith what sound card you have....i cant find which one i have.....DO IT NOW!!!
