I'm having a problem with Max Payne's head floating above his body and when he runs it really separates and bounces up and down. way above and below his body. I have also noticed this with his hands. Also some of the enemies heads disappear (so it looks like they have an invisible head) only to be seen floating next to or above the enemy. I don't know if this is a bug or just a problem with my computer. Has anyone else seen this?

This is a known issue with ATI's Radeon video card. You have this video card don't you? Anyway, I think Remedy believes it's ATI's driver problem... I'm not sure though. It was discussed some time ago.

buh! i have a radeon VE (32mb DDR) and it has similar problems, kinda. once in a while, max or someone elses torso, head, or legs, will just disappear for a second, then come back. weird huh. what the hell is with the radeon? it also wont run alien versus predator right. graemlins/mryuck.gif

I never had the problem until the first time I used the "-screenshot" with the .exe. After that the problem comes and goes even without the handle. I have a Hercules 3DProphet II MX with nvidia's 1241 drivers. (The reason I have nvidia's drivers is that Hercules' drivers don't seem to work with MaxED)

I have the same problem on occasion- it will play fine for a while and then suddenly his body parts appear to be attached by springs. does anyone have an idea why this happens or how to fix it? I wonder if it's my card overheating.

Here are my specs:
amd 1.33Ghz
win 98se
512mb ddr ram
geforce 2 gts 32mb ddr

I shouldn't be having video problems...

I get the same thing on my GEforce2 MX (200 I think).
I've attached my own fan to the card, so over heating is unlikely to be the problem.
It seems to happen only on some of the levels and if I load a game on those levels, it's there prettymuch straight off.

The most extreme I've seen is where the badguys faces and hands hover in space around max while their bodies run round. It's handy because you can tell if they're running or ducking from the movement of the hands........
The great thing about the springy bits is that when you pause the game everything springs back into place.

Im hosting a GeForce 2 Ultra 64Mb and a 1.4Ghz 512mb Ram, WinME PC.

I have this same really annoying problem but only on certain levels. I have nmoticed that this problem only seems to occur on levels with transparent textures such as : Walkways, ladders, fences.

Has anybody else noticed this or for you is it just all the time?

Also if anyone has anyway of fixing it it would be most aprreciated!!!

thanks for advice, will try tommorow and get back to you tommorow evening.

could i just ask ... did you also find that it was just with transparent textures?? If so, have you played Deus Ex, because in this game i found that when i was in a level with lots of transparent textures, play got slighlty jumpy, maybe its a recurring pattern??

Yes, I too am getting this problem.

I have a P4 1.7 ghz with a GeForce 2 GTS video card.

I rang the support number and all they could do is advise me to use my old drivers. I told them my old drivers don't support DirectX8 and I am yet to hear back.

Has anyone found a solution for this problem yet?

Thanks.

I also have this problem! Not sure of the cause, but its not drivers. Ive tried the 12.41, the official hercules drivers and also the beta drivers. All have the same problem. It could be a bios setting or a windows problem. I have a Hercules GeForce 2 MX fyi

customer support sent me an email advising me to turn off antialiasing on my card. From what I can tell, it seems to work without degrading my performance. Of course, I originally set the game options to work without antialiasing anyway, but I had to go into my card's properties and turn it off manually as well. This worked for a Geforce 2 GTS 32mb with the lastest drivers by the way. Give it a shot, redundancy may help.
