Well i have a big problem here. When im installing MP it goes well untill it reaches 100%, then nothing happens for about 5-10 minutes without any response. When the system responds it comes with this error message:

CRC ERROR: The file c:\program files\Max Payne\x_english.ras doesn't match te file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from wich you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor.

It gives me three options: "abort", "retry" or "ignore". If I try to "abort", the installation stops. If i try to "retry", the system halts for 2-3 mins before it gives me the same message. If i try to "ignore" it gives me the same message again with instead of x_english.ras it says x_music.ras / intro.mpg /
x_level1.ras / x_level2.ras / x_level3.ras (each with its own error message). If I try to ignore for every error message the installation completes without any more problems.
However, when I try to run the game it gives me this error message:

Exception in startupInt: R_ScriptLoader: Closing bracket "]" in line 177 of "\data\dialogtexts.txt" found without opening bracket!

These are the things I have tried so far:
1. Well, the obvious...Install normal
2. Copy the entire CD to the desktop then install in Safe Mode.
3. Copy the entire CD (with the CD-ROM "Supplemental cache size on small" and "Optimize access pattern for No Read Ahead" then install it in Safe Mode.
4. Install normal, apply patch (1.01), reinstall.
I had a problem installing Half-Life wich was the fault of the dvd-rom. I used method 3 above and had no problem after that.
I own many games and these are the only two so far that I have had problems with.
This is my system:
PIII 800 mHz
Afreey 8x DVD-Rom. Model no: DD-4008E
128 mb RAM
nVIDIA riva TNT2 Model 64 32MB graphics card
Windows ME
Please help as I have no idea what to do next.
