System Specs - AMD Athlon 1.2ghz 266bus
256mb DDR ram
MSI mainboard 266 bus
Radeon64mb DDR Vivo
SB128
40gb 7200rpm HDD

------------------------

I get 15fps just walking and gosh maybe around 10 when I fight. I have everything turned up with no AA, I'm also running WIN2k pro. I'm really in love with this game and wouldn't mind playing it with some speed... any suggestions?

thx

I got the same system exept for the video card. I got a Geforce2 Mx400 64meg and I get 25fps and it drops to 10 in a gun fight.

I dropped my resolution to 800x600x32 and now i get 30fps and 15 in a gun fight...yes it sucks indeed

This may sound a bit odd, but, uninstall the game, you wont loose any saved games as they are stored in your docs, now install DX that comes with the game then reinstall the game. If that fails, then you may need to have a play with your BIOS settings.

Try setting AGP driving to manual then set it to EA or DA.

Set you comp up as a network server and not a desktop computer.

Set your Vmem to 2.5X your system memory.

Set your refreash rate to 75 HRZ.

Turn off Vsinc.

Get Riva tuner and turn off 24 bit buffering.

Run the game in 16 bit colour.

Hmm, thats about all I can think of ATM.

Hope 1 of my thoughts helps images/icons/smile.gif

I think the solution is rather obvious. You said, "everything turned up". Turn some of them down. I have a Radeon SDR (32M) running 1024x768x32, and typically get high 30s to low 40s (using FRAPS), rarely dip below 20 (this is acceptable to me).
When I started I did a series of tests adjusting settings between medium and high one at a time and found that putting some of the settings on high really did a number on my framerate, others didn't. In most cases I could barely see a difference visually. For instance "detail textures" gave me a big hit (I thought it was due to my "only" 32Mb video RAM). Also bilinear vs trilinear filtering gave me a fair hit.

Radeon SDR 32M
256Mb RAM
