Need help with a sound problem

Can you help me? I have a nvidia TNT2 Ultra 32 vid card and a Creative Labs PCI64 soundcard. In Max Payne the sound goes very echoie,bellowie,staticie sounding (sorry best I can do).

This also happens very rarely on Half Life: Counter Strike but all the time in Max Payne. I remember seeing something about this somewhere on the net for CS. I think it had somethig to do with the video or soundcard drivers. I have updated to the latest drivers for both devices.

Does anyone know exacty what the problem is or how to resolve it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try this, it may help.

Go to control panel then Multi media then props and have a play with the rates for your sound card.
