Max - intro and after nothing

Help! When I run the game, after the intro, appear a black screen and the computer freeze.

I have already install the 1.01 pacht and I try to free memory (take away the background programs)but never change.
Also I set the desktop to 16 bit and the game to low detail and in other 10 way at least.

My system configuration is :

Pentium 2 at 350 Mhz
Motherboard Soyo 6ba+ con Chipset Intel 440 BX
256 Mb sdram
Geforce DDR 32 Mb
Sound Blaster Live! 1024
CDROM 56x Shuttle ( I use this for play )
Controller Scsi Adaptec 2904cd 7850 Family
DVDRom Scsi Toshiba SD-M1201
Masterizzatore Scsi Yamaha 8424s
Hard Disk 40 GB Quantum LCT20

Have you tried starting the game with
-skipstartup parameter? That helps in most cases if the game doesn't proceed further after the intro movie?

I have the same kind of problem, just it crashes instead of freezes, with the error message "Exception in engineInit: XImput DeviceException: Couldn't Set Data Format [Mouse]"
I tried the -skipstartup thing, but it didn't work.

I had the same problem as Saz78ssj4 with my pentium4 1.4 Ghz, 256 mb mem, geforce2 Ultra 64 mb. "-skipstartup" worked for me!
I'm also very happy today... Thanks PetriRMD.
