I used to play it when it was first released.. played from the day it was released here, but quit after two months or so. Got really sick of it by then and has never been tempted to try it again since.

Yes.
I played it recently when I was offered 10 free days due to Blizzard's promotion of the Lich King. (I think that was the reason)
Ironically, my account is currently frozen.

I play on a server called Spirestone. I don't play much, level 23 Hunter. Mainly play from time to time when I take a break from work.

Yeah, I am not an extremely hardcore player either, but I do play everyday for the most part. I play both Horde and Alliance, but my main side of play is Horde. This is a list of what I have:
Faction: Horde, Server: Azshara
-Lvl 74 Hunter (Troll) (Main Character)
-Lvl 62 Warlock (Undead)
-Lvl 49 Priest (Blood Elf)
Faction: Alliance, Server: Mal'Ganis
-Lvl 58 Warrior (Dwarf)
-Lvl 32 Priest (Night Elf)

Same here. I play occasionally and just if my good real life friends are online. I played a mage (lvl 27) but quit since I don't like dying all the time :p So now I play a shaman (lvl 9). Yep, I'm not hardcore into WoW...

Yeah, I started again earlier this week after a year without playing. I'm playing the characters I started before I quit, a priest and a rogue both now level 50+, on the server Area 52.

My clanmates have been trying to get me into it and I'm tempted to. I'll give the free trial a go during the Christmas break

The one thing you can't argue with if you do or do not like the game though is that it is polished and so large. :o

Only game i can play that doesnt require an upgrade that i like. The leveling is boring as all holy hell and being basic wow sucks though (i only got regular wow, lvl 60 cap). Can't go to out lands or join in any dungeons because most of them are 60-70-80 and im only 34.
Still fun from time to time.

Spoken like a true junky! :D
Could never get into the cartoony-ness of the game, but mostly MMO UI's put me off, on top of that the monthly fee.

the thought of this game kind of repulses me, i'm not an MMO or even RPG fan particularly.

I've been in and out a couple of times. Never got to lvl 60.
Sometimes i crave for more WoW, but i tell myself i'll only get frustrated again.
It's not really long term enjoyable, for the casual, mainly solo player.

I've tried the game while playing the demo, but that didn't cut it. So I tried it over at a buddies house, mainly to see what all the fuss was about, but after reaching about lvl 26 as a Orc Shaman, I couldn't find anything really interesting with the game, so I stopped playing. I also messed around with some of my buddies higher lvl characters, but I didn't really find anything that interesting with higher lvl characters either.
Eh, maybe its because I was introduced to MMO's through Everquest. Really, really enjoyed EQ, but after they nerfed the game quite a bit, I lost all interest, they made it too easy in my opinion.
NOTE: I know that some people say that EQ is rather difficult, but what I was talking about is when I started the game as a Warrior, they gave you a very crappy sword, a little bit of food and water, and thats it. Later through a patch, you started out with some half-way decent armor and sword, large amounts of high quality food and drink, plus extra backpacks for storage. For some reason, that bugged me pretty bad.

If you were looking to have fun right from the get go, then you should of realized you were going to get bored. The game starts getting fun when you hit lvl 60, thats when you can finally do the fun stuff and get the good loot.
But you have to trudge through the boring leveling that really is a put off, i should just pay a friend to play it and level me a guy.

I had a 2 week trial and it was the most boring thing I've ever played. I don't understand how anyone can play this game. I spent 90% of my time killing 10 of this or 12 of that to complete stupid quests. The game felt more like a job than a job.
My friends kept saying the game gets fun at level 60, but goddamn, I don't want to spend 6 months leveling so that I can have some fun then.

I knew that at the time, but I didn't think it be THAT boring. I'm sorry, but I don't see the point of a game if I can't have fun right from the get-go, or even after 1-3 hours.
I mean come on, start up a game of Tetris, BLAM! Instant fun.
Start up a game of Oblivion, 1-3 hours later, BLAM! Fun times.
Start up a lvl 01 character on WoW, and 2 days later... ha ha, no. I don't want to have to own a game for at least 2 weeks minimum before I enjoy it.
NOTE: The reason I said 2 weeks minimum is because I don't really support the concept of rushing. Seems like that would drain even more fun out of the game.

I find WoW way funner than Oblivion and Tetris ever were.
Don't talk shit about tetris! :p

I really like WoW and play it a lot if I have the time. Short breaks from time to time help to cure boredom that may have accumulated within me through continuous playing. I agree with the fact that ppl that don't have much time for playing games overall, aren't going to get the best out of this game - you need to devote quite a big chunk of your free time in order to enjoy it to the fullest.

Am I in the WoW? Yes, I am in the WoW. In the spirit of Duke I have started a guild on the PvP server Kil'jaeden called <Balls of Steel>
My name on there is Mazuru so send me a whisper and I'll invite ya. I don't play often, and by no means a serious player nor is the guild. But if ya wanna chat about other games, 3D Realms, Duke, or whatever feel free just send me a msg.
Probably wont be playing it too much longer, more interested in SW: TOR coming out and honestly play more Tf2 and a little L4d.
Peace!

LoL I feel ya, i wouldnt even be playing it at all if DNF had been released sometime this summer so far
I'm still hoping tons they get all that crappy nonsense out of the way and back to doing what they do best, creating and tweaking the ultimate Duke experience. :p

I've been playing WoW since release, off and on throughout all the expansions etc.
Used to be a hardcore raider, but I simply can't dedicate that kind of time and effort when the only reward is new gear.

I have a lvl 46, lvl 35, and lvl 25. The lvl 46 I've had since a year ago. I've only played 3 months total, and 2.5 of those were free time due to trial period, then first 30 days free, then a friend's scroll of resurrection, then Wrath 10 day trial. I only bought my first month just a week or 2 ago, and have put a few days on it since. I find it almost entirely boring, and it irritates me that such a weak product will actually garner so much praise. Still, I'm trying to push through to lvl 60-70 to find out whether it actually does get any better. I'm pretty sure it's going to turn out to be just talk, and that at lvl 60 it'll still be almost exactly the same as it has been for the last 46 lvls that I've been going at it.

Yeah hate to break it to ya dude, it's more of the same until level 80. Then you raid... and that's babysitting retards. Heh...
This is why it's time for the return of the Duke...

My wife and I used to play it obsessively for about a year, using two accounts at the same time. She was more hardcore than me! Eventually we decided we had to quit for our sanity and lifestyle, and although we haven't been back, I still get flashbacks and cravings quite regularly. It's addictive gaming crack, all right, install it at your peril.
WoW hasn't been the same for me since pre-TBC. With the way it's heading, I just nuked all my toons, canceled my account and started taking up other interests. Now I'm playing games like Flight Simulator X, Half Life 2, Unreal Tournament 2004 and a few others. Plus I have way more time on my hands. I find myself getting outside more instead of staring in front of the computer screen. Probably a good reason to put down the Warcraft pipe.
