What do you suggest? PSP or DS. I tried to find a similar topic but i didn't. Well, friends tell me PSP is better and have more functions and I know it's true but there are some DS and GBA games I still want to play.

Actually I was expecting to play the Doom I & II, Duke, Max Payne and Mario games on the DS with some others attracting titles from the DS (Yoshi Island DS and Call of Duty).
But in the other hand, on the PSP I have the Gta games.. but that's it. I don't like fifa o we games.
Also I haven't forgot about the Duke Trilogy that's being developed for both.

On the PSP games, I expect to get a better computer later for future games (DNF, Alan Wake... ) but only when those future games I'm waiting get released (so I'm not talking about pressures or release dates).

My consern is about game catalogs (Nintendo games are only for Nintendo consoles). I know there are some chips for the DS that allow me to listen to music and so, but I know the graphics will never be near as good as the PSP.

Please, clarify all the points given and give me subjectives and objectives suggestions. I want to know how much I can have from both and know the your thoughs.

Thanks a lot really, I always appreciate the comments you do in this forum.

it's probably a good idea to look through the entire catalogue for both consoles
whichever has more games is the one I'd pick (I got a PSP)

Ever since I got my PSP I've only played just a few PSP games on it. I find the games rather boring, actually and that goes for the gta games. There also seems to be a lack of games overall - Well, lack of games to my liking :o As it stands, I just use my PSP for homebrew, a few vids and some music. Even then I only use my PSP when I go take a dump :p

As for the DS, I'd love one as the game catalog seems to be more vast and more to my liking. There's a few 'kid' games but they are really fun.

PSP = ugh battery life
DS = I personally didn't find enough captivating games. But this was last year, maybe there's been some nice ones out.

The DS design/format is quite cool and practical (folds up to protect itself in a sense). Either device you can run emulators on, which oughta be nice.

Been thinking about getting a DS for awhile, mainly because there a some very cool adventure-games for it (Ace Attorney-series).

That's a great point. I use my step daughters DS (**** me it's PINK!) and it fits in my pocket nicely. As for my psp... I have to lug that around in a case  It's too big to fit in my pockets... well, it fits, it's just not comfortable. I'm also scared that I'm going to break it :o

I would say DS, PSP isn't so original with the games - there are few good ones, but overall in my eyes DS has wider repertuare.

I owned PSP, and regret not getting DS Lite. More interesting games, since almost all of the PSP games I can play better either on PS2 or on PC.

That's true. It's a shame that only Nintendo consoles have got Mario :(.

I was looking for the entire list of games of DS and PSP games on Wikipedia. DS games are divided in three different pages.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_DS_games
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PSP_games

And yes, Steve, there are some kid games that are fun; at least I still want to play Yoshi Island. Also the DS lets you play GBA games, so I'd be able to play duke advance and Max Payne (Advance?)..

There are some DS games that look interesting to me. There is this New Super Mario game and the Yoshi Island 2. I've never been a big fan of Pokemon (that said I've only finished one game) but the DS Pokèmon games seem a big step from the SP ones. And there are vastly some others that I miss to look at.

I'll have to think about it, very well. Thanks everyone.

Will you pick gimmicks, or computers?

Seriously?

DS : fun games. a little gimmicky at times, but no where near as bad as the wii.

PSP : OK games, at PS1 level. loads of additional functions.

I've got a DS and happy with it. Lot's off different and fresh games.
Great battery life, I actually never had it loose power when playing.

The psp might have better graphics and the other media functions,
but in the end games are fun because of their gameplay and if you
want a mediaplayer then you could buy a cartridge with mini-sd for the
DS.

If you're gonna use it to play games on, get a DS. If you're gonna use it to play music and stuff on, get a PSP. An old comic comes to mind:

^^ :) I just came from buying Yoshi's Island DS, I'll play it later since I have to study French for tomorrow. I'm expecting to get a Max Payne (Advance) copy I bough in Amazon in two weeks or so.. :).
