I'm curious as to why these drivers haven't been leaked like all the others. images/icons/confused.gif

Yes, it is true. However, that kind of increase would only happen with a GeForce3.
They have not been leaked because nVidia does not want them leaked. images/icons/smile.gif

actually, the Geforce 3 should perform 30% better and the Geforce 2 series should perform up to 10% better.

Bob46, I think that before you start worrying about detonator 4 drivers, you should learn to optimize your system performance. You know, clean out your system tray, defrag your hard drive, even format if necessary. If you seriously get 20FPS with 2ghz and a geforce3 then there is a lot more wrong with your system then just drivers. Get your computer working properly and you'll get a 300% increase in Max Payne's performance.
I have two computers, one is a P3 600 Geforce2 and it gets highs in the 70FPS range, averages 30-40FPS and rarely drops below 20FPS. My other system is a P4 1.7 geforce3 and I've never seen Max Payne drop below 50FPS on it. That's with details maxed out on both and 1024x768 on the P3 and 1280x1024 on the P4.

nvidia says they do NOT release drivers on purpose..which is probably utter bullshit, or is probably not. previous leaks performace boosts are probably parts of this. i mean like the LAST OFFICIAL release compared to the NEXT OFFICIAL release (det 4) is 50% perfomance increase. not 50% from the latest leaks (12.90).
this is just a senario..not a total opinion or truth/fact.
also..nvidia could be holding back on performance when they release a card, and every once in a while release drivers to unleash the performance. so like when a new competator comes out with a new card, nvidia releases performance increased drivers near the same time. its kinda funny now nvidia says there are det 4s coming out soon after ATI announces new competition.
this is also just a senario that i heard from a messageboard. why the hell am i talking about nvidia in a max payne discussion board? i have no clue. maybe im just bored and should go play max payne or something..maybe wannk off to the pixelated porn maybe? who knows. images/icons/rolleyes.gif

Latest WHQL leaks are 1410, latest beta leaks are 1470. images/icons/smile.gif 1290 is old. images/icons/smile.gif

The 12.90 drivers are the best out right now. They are fast and the overall image quality is great and an improvment from other detonators. I saw a improvement in image quality and speed in Max Payne just from moving from the 12.60's to the 12.90's. Overall, on average I get around 70+ fps in Max Payne at 1024x768x16 with detials set a high.
The new Detonator 4 drivers will be something else thought. They promise way more speed. nVidia says up to 50%, but I think that is just hopeful thinking. I would expect if you were a GeForce3 owner you would get about a 30% increase in games.
I can't wait to see how the image quality in these new drivers will be as well.
