I searched for a thread on this movie, but found nothing. :)
Will Smith's latest film. Bon, myself, my oldest brother and his wife went and saw this film last night. Oh my god... honestly. This is possibly the most touching, and emotional movie I've seen in years.
I can't say anything about the story... nothing. Even saying what happens in the first five minutes would give away something.
Once more people post about it, I will gladly discuss it through spoilers and what. :) But honestly, everyone, if you get the chance, go see it. At the end of the movie... as people were leaving the amount of people with tears in their eyes was amazing.
Damn near everyone there was crying.

I know there are some low reviews out there, but I completely disagree. :)

I've been driving past the posters on the way to work. Is it my imagination or does Will Smith look younger here?
Almost looks like a Men In Black poster. :p

The worst part is that it got TERRIBLE reviews. I saw this movie like two weeks ago. I even posted on how much I loved it over the "what your watching/listening thread"
I agree with Damien, amazing movie. Very good performance by Will smith.
Don't watch the trailer, don't read about it, don't even read the reviews. For everyone that has not seen this movie, just go in knowing nothing more then the fact that Will Smith is in it and it's a drama. That's all, you'll walk out at the end and realize that it was worth it. That's what happened to me and I was blown away.

I read one review last night... were the critic said the movie left you with way to many questions unanswered. And as I read the review... I thought to myself, your given the answer to each and every one of the these questions.
Did the jackass even bother to watch to movie?

Yeah I have to agree. At the end of the movie I tried to piece a few things together which at first did not connect for me but after realizing that the beginning of the movie is the most important, everything fell into place. The list at the beginning was a list of people that were compatible for him to be a donor to. The guy at the hospital who he was mad at was compatible for a bone marrow transplant. There were no unanswered questions for me. Everything fit together very well. Honestly this is one of the major reasons why I don't even bother with reviews. I don't need some "professional" douchebag to tell me whether a movie is good or not.

saw it today, it was pretty good, although the plot was easy to figure out after a few minutes. some nitpicking....
The house was overkill. on a california beach the lady was looking at 15-30k of taxes yearly, not to mention gift tax, just to live there. like that sunday night house show is proving you can't give people expensive things and expect it to make long term positive changes to their lives.
the biggest nitpick was about the jellyfish. Sure, it was a pretty ending, but would the venom make the organs unharvestible? I would suspect so. and secondly he was putting other peoples lives at risk just to remove the jellyfish, regardless of a sign on the floor. and lastly they have very specific requirements in order to be able to survive, water from a hose would not work. Anyway that is all. :D

I won't comment about the Jellyfish since I don't really know anything about em. But I think you may have slightly misunderstood that beach house. It wasn't about giving a poor women a better home. It was about giving her a place so that she and her children could start a new life away from her abusive boyfriend.

Ah another tearjerker.
Damn that was a good movie. Makes me appreciate Will Smith more, especially since The Pursuit of Happyness

I'm going to check this out once it's released on DVD. The premise sounds fairly interesting.

I loved it. It's not supposed to be a big twist movie; anyone with a brain can tell what's going on right away. Don't watch it with stupid people and you can enjoy it without their persistent questions.
Just a guess, but given the temp of that water with all the ice, the jellyfish (which I'm assuming is from tropical or temperate zones) probably only lived long enough to give him a couple fatal stings before succumbing to the freezing temperatures.
