How can they make Max Payne 2 when they haven't even made a Max Payne expansion pack yet?
I don't think my PC will be able to handle Max Payne 2 when it comes out. I was hoping Remedy would continue the story in an expansion pack.
Well they better release Max Payne 2 for my Gamecube because that is the only next gen console I have after my PC.

If Max 1 wasn't technically feasible on the GC, you think Max 2 will be? images/icons/smile.gif
Anyway, I wouldn't expect the system specs for Max 2 to be a WHOLE LOT different than the first. I'm sure they might change a little, but I wouldn't expect a major change.
Granted, until it's announced, anything is possible - but I just wanted to point that out.

Uh didn't Max Payne come on the PS2? So if the PS2 could handle it why not GC? The GC is more powerful and has more RAM and a higher clockspeed and a way better videocard than the PS2.
Also as of right now in worldsales. According to CNN.
PS2-30 million
GC-4.5 million
Xbox -3 million.
So the GC even has more sales than XBox, so you would make more money if you released it on the GC, and according to Nintendo of Europe, the average age of a GC owner in Europe is 23 years old. Pretty surprising huh?

Tehre's some technical reasons why it wasn't. George posted them quite awhile ago, I don't remember what they are now. Please, let's not get into a console war. Thanks. images/icons/smile.gif

Ok I won't. But I did like Max Payne though. I bought it for the PC when it first came out. Aside from its shortness and repititiveness it was a pretty cool game. I really hope I can play the sequel in the future. Well at least Take 2 announced that Duke Nukem Forever will come to GC.

Why would they release a cheap addon when they can release a full-prize sequel? Think business... heheh

What's wrong with releasing an add on first and then continuing the story with Max Payne 2. That means you can get sales from both people with low end computers for the add on and high end computer for Max Payne 2.

Add on's are for the most part - a waste of time. They are lukcy to sell 25% as much as the original.
It's far better for Rememdy to focus their talents on a new, full game. It's not reasonable to an outside team to make a Max addon due to the complex story and plotting that needs to be done. And Remedy and 3DR would have to spend valuable time overseeing such an add on.
Ahh So thats what Remedy need another mapper....Its all falling into place images/icons/smile.gif

Byron, It came to the Xbox as well, I bought it like 2 days after it came out for Xbox. If you ask me, out of the PS2 and Xbox versions the Xbox version is the best. Like the computer version you can save anywhere you feel like saving and just the major hardware advances over the PS2. I really dont think Max Payne would work on on Gamecube though, yeah it can run it, I just dont think it would work out.
