*NOTE* the following is just fan fiction, and not in anyway officially endorsed by 3D Realms. This disclaimer is part of my "Covering My Backside" policy.

Duke Nukem - Rise of a Hero

"EX-Navy SEAL Duke Nukum is recruited by recently promoted General Graves, a combat buddy of Duke's, to work at Area 51 as an experimental weapons tester and specialised security member. Shortly after his tenior at the base begins, a scientist named Doctor Baxter is exposed to a hostile alien substance that latches onto his mind and drives him insane. Proton takes control of the facility, and begins a wave of destruction that only Duke can stop. Based on the 1991 video game by 3D Realms."

Here is a test image from one of the matte shots that comes in during the begining of the film.
It's based on the old Duke 3D skyline images of LA.

The nuke logo everybody knows and loves. :D

Just a few things that I want to point out: Baxter is the replacement name for "Blunderwitz." Upon going mad Baxter will take up the name "DR. Proton." There will be robots. A new age, experimental group of cyborgs that Proton takes control of, and some alien parasites. I'm hoping to release sometime within the next few months. Area 51 is the primary film location, however Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Los Angeles, and The Moon are also locations that make either brief cameos or have some role in the story.

I'm releasing this information here to let it buzz a bit. I haven't even put up a page on my site yet. Hoping for some feed back, and what you guys think of the general premise, and style. It's not too different from the games, I took bits and pieces from all of them to come up with a slightly stronger film than what I had to work with in the original game on it's own. ;)

Hello Commando Nukem! It's been a while ;)

Your project is very interesting. I assume it's an animated movie ? Not a live-action ?

It's been almost two years since my last Duke Nukem movie. I am now thinking about making another one, more bad-ass  But I'm not sure.

Anyway, good luck with your project ;)

Yes indeed!

Yes, animated 2D/3D composites. Run time will be roughly 70-90 minutes.
