Patch problems

When i download the patch v.1.01 and when i try
to install it there is a message coming up
which says:"Setup could not update the file MaxPayne.exe!
Make sure the file isn`t in use.
Please close all open programs and try run setup again.
Setup will now exit."
I make sure that the file isn`t in use and i close all my running programs but the the problem
continues.
Please if there someone knows how to solve this
problem(if it can be solved) to reply!

Have you rebooted your machine, run scandisk, and run the patch BEFORE running the game?

Yes i tried to reboot my computer and i ran Scandisk but the problem continues.
If you can advise me to do something else please
reply again.

Sounds like a fcuked install. Try uninstalling the game, deleting the games folder, then reinstall and then try again?

duh, maybe it sounds stupid (ok, it *is* stupid)

but... Did you checked your maxpayne.exe's properties and checked off the 'read only' option if it was on?
