Polish game publication GRY Online claims to have learned from a trusted source that a sequel to Test Drive Unlimited is already in production at Eden Studios with a target release scheduled for March, 2008. According to the story, Test Drive Unlimited 2 will introduce off-road racing, dynamic weather, and over 2400 km of road

So, 2 years after that article, and still no announcement? And it was supposed to be released a year ago? Sounds like a rumor and nothing else, really.

If it's being developed, I hope they call it Test Drive 10 instead. Why did they stop using numbers in the first place?

TDU was fun in concept and offerings but the physics left me pretty unsatisfied. Even if it couldn't go fullblown simulation with physics they could at least go towards realism but easy enough, ala GTA series.

^Yeap, it was a complete yawnfest to me.

I would have much rather had a more realistic simulation with the proper sounds and physics of each car.

I've got the PS2 version, and I really like it.
Only have 2 complaint about it, Countach 25th Anniversary Edition is only available in red, when in fact it's main release colour was silver metallic.
And the Murcielago takes ages to get from 0-100kmh, when it should do it in 3.5 seconds.

What I really liked in TDU was driving around the island in a '71 Corvette convertible or 512TR. The career was not exciting enough for me, so I didn't bother to finish the game. I still play it from time to time, there's no other game like this one.

If there's TDU2 in the works, I wish the'll improve the road surface smoothness. Some roads are impossible to drive on - level changes are too unrealistic and poly count too low.
