No idea how they did it. But they changed the password, and the e-mail associated with the account. Is there anyway to get it back? The only game on there is Half-Life 1, and Opposing Force... I have the original CD's and the CD keys, but I can't register them to another account.

Contact Valve. There's nothing anyone else can do for you.

This happened to me, I simply contacted Steam Support.
In fact, they have a detailed article (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2347-QDFN-4366) about this.

You could try sending Valve an email with a picture of you holding both the products in your hands from your Steam email. You'd at least think they can see the previous email connected to the account?

Can't think of anything that would be better than contacting Valve support asap.

note to self, change password to something other than "password"
seriously though things like this are going to become more common in a digital society
in the posted link steam shows how to prove ownership, no matter the way it was bought
in my own work we have lots of problems with electronic fraud.
the main problem is that you have a finite number of resources (a few people with other responsibilities) to fight a virtually unlimited number of people (foreigners trying to exploit the system) that have an economic incentive.
Not sure what they can do with the steam account, but if they figure out some way to sell it then expect much more of this.

OK, it was me. I confess.

Nah, I lie. Hopefully you'll get it back.

If all else fails, can't those be played without Steam?

No idea how they did it.
As far as I know, changing the email account and password can only be done if you approve the changes by clicking a link in a message sent to your original email account, so the perpetrator could very well be somebody you know or who has recently had access to your computer. If you happened to step away from your computer while logged into your email client, changing your Steam password and email account and then disposing of the evidence would have been trivial.

Good point, Mountain Man. You should change your e-mail password(s) as well, Lengis.

That sucks man. :( Contacting Valve about the situation and seeing what they can do to sort it out is your best bet.

Well who did you tell your password to then you'll get your answer.
