Square Enix said it would pay 32 pence a share in cash for Eidos\
Story (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7885454.stm)(BBC)
Seems all the money is in Japan these days...at least they aren't being bought by EA or someone who would certainly milk the Tomb Raider cow clean.

Square-Enix, they've been talking about moving to the western market more prominently, and maybe this is the key for them?

So the story goes...
I haven't played a Eidos game in a while though. I am a little apathetic to this, just thought I would break the news to people.

Eidos Was an Ok publisher even though they did a bunch of dick moves (Cough*Kane And Lynch/GamespotCOUGH*). I hope they don't get bought out or if they do I hope it doesn't affect the games they make.

I think that was Infogrames.
So what does this mean for Deus Ex 3? :o :p

Nope. Eidos published DN3D and Blood, and many other games in the UK. :)

As long as they don't interfere in Eidos's development cycles I'm fine with it. Leave Deus Ex, Theif, and Hitman alone.

Square-Enix might be just the thing to get Eidos butt in gear. They've been stagnant for awhile.
At the same time it could blow up because the games that SE releases are completely different than anything Eidos has ever done.

Hahaha Square-Enix and *helping* stagnation? I like their games too but let's face it, it's been nothing but Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest clones for years. Some good stuff in there, but they'd be calling the kettle black on that one.

I was about to say "No they didn't!" until I remembered that I got my copy of D3D from the University of Michigan's student union (just before coming back to Blighty), and the Plutonium Pak directly from 3D Realms :p

So.. expect Deus Ex 3 to include extremely feminine male characters with over-compensating weaponry and hair that would make Duran Duran blush?

Well they are also adding J-Pop Music to the game but expect much more when Deus EX XXIV gets released.
