As my understanding of eduke grows (kinda) and my coding ability goes from "sucky" to "mediocre" I begin to wonder about its capacities...Join me?
One thing that was really sort of annoyed me about build was the fact that all of the really cool looking buildings you could make (ie, the ones that have roofs...) couldn't be entered. By in large, they just served as decoration. Of course, you could give the illusion that you could enter it by using teleporters and making another sector that has a similiar design, and honestly that works just as well for me. I'd rather have an illusion that I'm entering something than nothing at all. BUT, it couldn't hurt to fancy up that illusion, right?
Of course, everybody's idea of fancying something up is a bit different. Mine, honestly, is to make the method of entry into that non-enterable sector a bit more predictable.
Because the teleporter is a sector-based effect, usually people will have the entry be a 'drop' into something, so my question is this; is there a way to alter the two-way teleport effect (or just wholesell create a new one) using eduke's certified badassery to use it as an activated effect (like a light switch)? If so, does anyone think this would be worthwhile to code? Personally, I think it'd be pretty neat, but maybe that's just me...
