Does anyone know what causes the error: "Access violation - No RTTI data." I keep getting it! It crashes my game randomly during Part III: Chapter 4. "Backstabbing Bastard" is the title of that one. i just started the level and it will always crash when I'm fighting a few of the guys. I save the game and try reloading but the same error will come up while I'm playing. Sometimes two minutes after loading, sometimes even two seconds. I tried turning down Sound Acceleration in DXDiag like suggested by Remedy. Any more ideas?

Hi, i used to have the same error message, i removed my sblive value soundcard from the pc and the game worked properly, i havent tried to run it with another soundcard though.
Maybe this helps.

I wish that helped. I have an on-board audio card that came with my motherboard.

as far as i know you can disable it by using jumpers, and a friend of mine told me that the proplem resolved when he tried to run the game in w2k, that didnt work for me images/icons/smile.gif
I must say that the support for the game is awful!
Releasing a FAQ would never be adaquate.

Well, I don't get it. What's the point if I disable my onboard audio? I won't be able to hear anything in the game. That wouldn't be any better.

of course, but this would identify if the problem is caused by sound card or not. The other way you can throw away the game and buy another game that works. In the end it is just a game isnt it..

Does anyone from Remedy mind fielding this question? I can't get this to work! images/icons/mad.gif

Completely aggree.
i sent an email to talonsoft describing the problem and attached my directx diagnostic output, the response was to update my drivers, heh what an answer. Also no responsible tech person responds the messages in here. Also i think only both of us experiencing this rtti problem since nobody replied.
So i think my 50$ has gone.

WinXP is not a supported OS per the specs from Remedy. It works for some people, and not for others.
