7 years in the making. Two unique and parallel story lines. Five endings.

A Launch Trailer was uploaded last week, which can be viewed on the main page of the site. Looks like it's going to be released sometime this month.

I've only been following this mod for the last year or so, but it looks quite spectacular and will be compatible with HDTP (High Definition Texture Package mod), which will hopefully be completed by the end of the year.

Slick website as well.

Thanks for posting this, it looks very nice, almost professional. Hope you'll update the thread when it gets released.

The narrator/voice-over guy sounds like he's Dutch btw :o

Oh man... that trailer is so cheesy and bad it's almost good :o

I shall. Could even be as early as this week.

I believe the heavy cheese was intended. Read 'About TNM'. It paints a nice picture (in text, mind you :p) of the semi-serious nature of the game.

Keeping up Deus Ex's fine tradition of terrible voice acting :).

As noted already, this looks cheesy as a fondue yet strangely compelling.

7 Years eh? That's quite a long time for a TC...

These days even maps can take years to build. Anything is possible in amateuristic game creation land.

Very cheesy, but it has me intrigued nevertheless! :D I'll have to keep an eye on this.

Looks cool, definately will check this out.

OT: Todays modders strive to bring perfection from start, making too ambitious projects. I think Black Mesa suffered and benefitted from this, they've gained a lot of attention, but for smaller mod teams it's certain way of not getting anything released :)

I sincerely hope that everyone around here would already be very well aware of that fact..... :)

And I think I might actually buy Deus Ex for this mod.

So we're still pretty well set for a release this weekend - probably Sunday as that gives us a bit of extra time to mail the journos, plus that's what we've set on ModDB so might as well keep our word for once.

Copied this from their official forum. Can't wait!

The Nameless Mod manual has been released in .pdf format.

It's an interesting read for anyone anticipating this mod. A LOT has changed, and a lot of customization options have been added. Very professional.

As the TNM team said, it has been released (923MB)

http://thenamelessmod.com/

I suggest giving the manual a glance before starting. There's a small bit about Known Bugs that are easily cleared...minor issues.

I hope it's good, and I hope anyone who downloads/buys it enjoys it. http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/images/icons/icon14.gif
I wish the team well.

Oh, look at that. I thought they replaced my voice contribution but apparently it's still in.

I have to try this. It just smells like originality. :)

Narrator sounds like he liked ol' Phil LaFontaine a lot. :)

This is all nice and dandy, but where is the Deus Ex HRP? They've been working on it since 2006! I WANT MY HRP! :D

Ah, but you can get a small taste of it in TNM. Some of the models have already been implemented. :)

You can try out this mod (forgot name) made by HP from the 3drealms MP modding community. It adds specular surfaces, dynamic lights and a few more cool stuff. I'll look for the link later and give it to you. :)

Edit:- Here's the link guys (http://www.helderpinto.com/blog/personal/deusex-ultra-high-quality-mod-v01.html).

Features:-

- Better shadows and render contrast
- Bloom
- Bump Mapping
- Ambient Occlusion
- Specularity
- Very high quality textures
- Lightning improved (lighting??)

I suppose these are "before/after" pictures?

If so, I'll stick with "before" (though I appreciate the effort made to create these mods).

I might give it a shot, thanks. I'm worried that it'll conflict with the innards of the TNM though...

So anyone lumped some significant time into TNM yet?

I played it for about 4 hours yesterday. Did my first few quests...trying to earn enough money to buy me some augs. Without going into too much detail, I'll mention a few of the good things.

- Excellent music by Martin Ahm, perfectly suits the world created here.

- City sections are HUGE and well designed. That being said, because the sections are huge, they look empty, but there's still enough life walking around.

- Some excellent NPC models, and the model for the glock has to be part of HDTP because it's absolutely gorgeous.

- A shitload of dialogue, even between civillians having a convo as you pass them by. I spent almost 20 minutes talking to Chris, the owner of the Fan-Fic book store. He literally goes over the 'Deus Ex Bible', spitting out facts about DX that I had no idea of. A shitload of books/magazines/newspapers to read as well.

- A lot of hilarious lines from the 'board guest' and 'nOOb' class NPCs of Forum city.

- Just like the original, exploring nets you a decent amount of skill points. Stack them crates! The Journal has also changed for the better, telling how you completed goals and so forth.

- The Goat Cult is priceless. Piss them off and they'll try to stab you with a foon, or throw sporks at you!

- MIBs have been changed to Firewall Soldiers/Agents, with the same grey skin and drone voices.

- Not a single crash after getting past the initial start-up problems.

I'll post the not so good next...

---------- Post added at 06:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:04 PM ----------

The not so good...

- Some sound issues. Sometimes the SFX work flawlessly, other times I boot up the game and the SFX are really quiet or mute.

- Game doesn't let you Alt-Tab. Ctrl-Alt-Deleting is the only way to minimize, but do so, and you're greated with multi-coloured streak shards upon your return. This poses a problem for anyone running a dual/quad core. I can post a solution, but I'll wait to see if anyone is actually playing this. And it doesn't work 100% of the time.

- Too much dialogue at times, and you can tell the speaker got bored halfway through the lecture as words start to slur and speed up, haha.

- I can't quite remember from the original, but do sections that you 'mistreated' with violence cool off after you've left the area and revisited? I revisited an area after failing to snoop quietly and the NPCs were still hostile, and seemingly in the exact same spots as when I bolted.

Well I just completed my first playthrough. The game has me clocked at 21 hours.
I was pretty much a bad guy the whole way through and found the ending very fitting.

The game did crash more times than I wish to admit, but a patch (45.2MB) has already been released and fixes over 50 bugs. Though the game did crash, progress was never stopped by some show stopper or scripting bug.

Bottom line:
Anyone who likes Deus Ex and enjoys forum surfing should DEFINITELY give this mod a try. All the elements of Deus Ex are present, but with a few welcomed additions/changes. The ability to use your fists with the glove upgrades is particularly spectacular.

It's like a massive Deus Ex expansion of a different ilk. Miles ahead of DX:IW and very professional.
