What is it this time? The fact that any mod, add-on, or the original AE can not save my game properly. It says "Game Saved," yet there is no image, and it doesn't let me load it. I don't get an error message, it just doesn't do anything. I press "Y" a thousand times, and nothing happens. So, the only way to escape is to hit "N."
I also have a question about the HRP...why is it that when you die, the HRP has to rel-load the same textures of the level you died in? I mean when you're just re-starting the same level, why does it have to re-load the textures? I have a rather speedy computer, but it takes forever to load. 5 minutes, I beleive I clocked it in.

That has been known to happen if your cfg file is set to a nonexistent ModDir. Try either deleting all your cfg files, or if you want to keep them, just delete any lines in them that include the word "ModDir".

Lines? What do you mean by "Lines?"

Hmmm. I guess I would define a line as a sequence of characters starting either at the beginning of a file or immediately after a carriage return, and terminating in a carriage return or the end of the file.
Maybe you should just try deleting those cfgs?

But doesn't each add-on/mod/map/TC need those?

WOW... you were had with your 'speedy' computer.
I yet have to find a map/level or whatever that takes longer than 10 seconds.

Cfg files are created by the game upon startup if they are not already preasent in the directory.

Might take 5 minutes the first time the textures are cached, or every time a map is loaded if a user disables the cache for some reason.

ALright, I removed the cfgs, and it worked. Thanks. And the maps are all of a sudden loading faster.

To delete every line with the word "ModDir", you were supposed to open up the .cfg files with a simple text editor (like notepad) . :)
