"Portable Ubuntu for Windows is a Ubuntu system running as a Windows application."
Not tried it myself but sounds like a great idea. Now I wonder if I can get Ubuntu running on Windows running on OS X...

Run a Windows VM inside of Portable Ubuntu, with Portable Ubuntu running inside that VM, with another Windows VM running inside of the second copy of Portable Ubuntu, and run another copy of Portable Ubuntu within that VM...
First person that does this to about 25 layers will win my eternal devotion.

Wouldn't that cause a system overload? So many layers would eventually take a toll on the system.
I suppose this is an alternative to a Live DVD but how much could you do with it? I use a Live DVD to make changes to Windows or fix it...

I gave it a try. It's pretty neat. I'd love to have something like Kontact running under Windows.
