I can't play Max Payne with sound

I've just got my AGP-V7700 graphic's card yesterday and 3 hundred and something ram. Max Payne's intro(the one after you load the game) plays with sound. But then it takes me to a load screen, and it crashes. If I disable sound...everything works fine. I also use the TBS Montego sound card. Since, no ones around...I'll try disabling it in the control panel.

My specs are
32 mb graphics card
more then 300 hundred ram
400 Mhz Intel
