Defrag your main HD, then set your virtual memory (My Computer>Properties>Performance>Virtual Memory) to a fixed size swap file. In other words, set it to a size you want and make the min and max size the same. I set it to 384 and MP runs ace now.. didn't work well, if at all before.

Also it might be worth checking the read-ahead optimisation (My Computer>Properties>Performance>File System) and set it to highest and to Network Server.

Doing either will prompt a reset and Windows will swear at you for changing the virtual drive settings, but just ok it.

Hopefully, this will help some folks out there that have been having major problems with this game (as have I until tonight, when it suddenly just clicked).

It also doesn't appear to *need* 12.41 drivers (as stipulated in the readme file) as I run 7.78's just fine.

Seems this game is very memory hungry.

There's also some settings that will only work with more than 32mb on a vidcard (detailed in manual).

hth a few peeps out there,

kenco.

PS. I've had some feedback after posting this elsewhere. The Network Server setting is apparently only necessary if you run a lan. Still worth setting the read-ahead to max though.
