Would this SAVE DNF?

I have an idea.. what if 3DRealms released a multiplayer only version of DNF with what they have completed. Just a map or two with some weapons.. Maybe sell it for $10. It would spread across the net like wildfire and everyone would be playing it. Maybe that would be enough to make them some money and get investors excited about DNF. Maybe they could even give this away for free.. as a "demo" or something. If nothing else it would be great for fans to have SOMETHING.. I can't believe that such a recognizable brand as "Duke Nukem" is just going to die... :(

First off, while your Idea is good and valid, it's too little too late. I can promise you that almost every option was considered when George decided to shut the company down.

Second, It's a pretty general consensus that Duke Nukem won't die. Apogee has the handheld Trilogy they're developing, and George/Scott still owns the IP, so they could license it to another company or sell the IP altogether. I'm pretty sure that Duke is here to stay. The only lingering question is what will happen to DNF...The only certainty is that 3DR is going under...:(

Wait and see what happens. My guess is George will make a statement within the next week or two.

I wouldn't be so certain. Just because someone says they've gone through every option, doesn't mean they can't miss a thing or two, or think of other, more creative things.

I've still got yet to hear from George. I hope he says something soon. I can only hope for a miracle.

But one thing needs to be revealed - who holds the rights now? George? Scott? Apogee?

It's Bryan fkn Brewer animations - he wants to get a new job by postin this stuff as a portfolio. George gonna be mad as hell. Wrong move Bryan.
Well, at least we can see the game now and it's pretty good, and looks like it's done. I'd like Apogee to release this game soon.
p.s.: Awesome animations Bryan. But u better hide now.

Some few vids removed by so far. I'm sure they'll remove all of them soon. I can see about 10 new vids. Looks like everyone wants to upload the "leaked" footage.

Well it's not in DNF part of the forum dude (3D Realms Forums > General Gaming Topics > Other Gaming Discussions) - that's why i have'nt found it.
Hey - i remember George said - u'll get the next video and we gonna release the game right after that. Maybe it's my imagination. Still - i find the game very attractive and playable - i don't think they'll drop it. I'm waiting for the official George's comments.

But none of this stuff is coming from 3DR themselves, as far as we know ;). These are ex-employees posting stuff to try and find jobs.

If it's a big joke, they are doing it in a very complex and organised fashion. Then again they would have had years to think of a way of marketing it.

Most likely still at the moment is the game has gone into development hell... But we are still in wait and see land...

I pray that the game gets released. After seeing that video, I would be so depressed to see that thrown away. This game HAS to be released. I just does.

Please, George, or whoever is reading this who has the power, see to it that this gets released, no matter what. It would be so worth it in the end.
