Not sure if it's just me, but it seems that Firefox has been randomly crashing every 20 minutes since I got my system home from the shop with it's new motherboard. I did a reinstall of Vista, but that didn't do anything. Read somewhere that this current version of Firefox was having crashing issues, so I was wondering if anyone else had the same problems?

Have you tired a previous build, or try out the latest beta. See if that fixes the problem.

I take it it's only firefox that does this? Have you run other software, especially memory hungry stuff. It could be a bad block of memory...

None of my other programs crash. Just Firefox. I will run Memtest to see if anything comes up.

I have 3 GB of memory, which Vista eats like a pig.

If I have Firefox open with 150+ tabs, it will eat up half to 3/4 gig of memory, and will be prone to crashing (especially if I get above 175+ tabs), sometimes just a few minutes after all the tabs reload from the prior crash.

I suspect it may be more of an Adobe Flash issue ( [ ]ing adverts) than a Firefox issue.

If I read and close enough tabs, the problem goes away.

I end up with that many tabs from opening 25-50 news items, reading the first one, but then finding another 2-4 items to read at the bottom of the item I just finished. Sorta gets away from me from time to time.

I re-installed Vista yesterday. Downloaded Firefox and it happened. Did not have Flash installed. Today, it has only happened once. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

FF 3.5 finally came out today. Much faster, so far.

FF 3.5 finally came out today. Much faster, so far.Its new JavaScript engine is lightning fast, which makes everything else significantly snappier.

I've also had fewer stability problems, which was why I started using the betas rather than 3.0.

Think it had something to do with my CPU not being compatible with my new motherboard that I got a few months ago. When I updated the BIOS to 1406, everything went away.

I never had any crashing issues with FF. Ever. One of the major reasons why I'm not even checking out the "competition".

Did you install an add-on recently? Try disabling it.

I did install a few add-ons, but they haven't caused any problems.
