View Full Version : Gun sounds only coming out of left speaker

Yet all other sound comes out of both, comic book sounds, movie sounds, crack head screaming. Only guns this doesnt happen with are the Akimbo Berettas. Its very anoying.(I got a crappy sound card but my friend has same one and it doesnt happen to him)

Sounds like you have your speakers set to 4 point but only have 2 speakers, try connecting your speakers to the other output on your sound card and see if the sound comes out of the other speaker. If so then you need to go into you SB Live speaker setup and change it to a 2 speaker setup!

k, it was set for 4 speakers I set it for 2 still has the problem.. I only got 1 port for speakers on my card so I dunno about that. Is there anyway it could be because I got a subwoofer on my computer? I dunno never heard of that causeing a problem but maybe...

The SB Live should have 2 outputs! Its should have about 5 sockets on the card altogether?

As for the problem, Im not sure then! sorry!

It does have 5 ports but only 1 gives sound...
Man I hate not knowing crap about sound cards =(

With the 4 speaker option turned on, when using a program that supports the 4 outputs, it will put sound out of the other output.

If your just playing music or sumthing than nothing will come out. Theres a test button in the speaker setup which when you have got it set to 4 spears, a nice womans voice talks through each of the 4 speakers!!

As for the problem, I still cant think of anything. When you play a MP3 or sumthing, I take it your getting sound out of both speakers? Also in the game ur getting the music and other FX coming out or both speakers, but the gun is only coming out of one? What if you turn around a bit in the game, does it come out of the other speaker?

I beat the game with no sound, really hard...

2 speakers WITH a sub doesn't sound like a normal Creative setup. The game may confuse things a bit in the 3D channels that the game uses for DirectSound. Try disconnecting the sub... by the way, how do you connect this sub? I have a 5.1 setup which of course means only one plug and all speakers connected to the sub, but if yours is not a standard system this could be the problem. No matter what live version you have you should have one speaker out, and one line out, you can use the line out for the sub, just go into your sound mixer and click line out to enable sound there, it's probably off by default...hope that helped in any way...

There is no way for me to discon the sub and still have sound it plugs into my comp, my speakers have wires the same as a stero...

Well, I notice one thing that no has asked yet is what speaker system do you have? I'm going to guess its not a Creative system because I'm not aware of any Creative systems that connect the speakers to the sub. Secondly, which SB Live! card do you have?
