I want to synchronise my iPod with iTunes so that Last.FM can scrobble what I listened to (on my iPod) and upload the data to the Last.FM site.. Problem is, my iPod is already quite full of stuff that is not in my iTunes library. When I try to enable the option found on my iPod "synchronise music", I get the notification that doing so would remove everything I have on my iPod and replace it with whatever I have in my iTunes library.

I don't want that to happen. Is there a way to synchronise my iPod now without losing all my stuff ànd in a manner that will also achieve what I want from Last.FM?

In a word, no. You can't turn on synchronization unless you want your iPod to mirror your iTunes library exactly. It is possible to copy stuff off your iPod and into iTunes, and sync when finished, with additional software. The program I remember using is called iPod Access. Problem is, I think the demo version limits you to 5 songs at a time.

Should give you guys an update on this: I found a program called "LastPod" (first result on Google! ;)).. You may need a Java update though.

This is why my gf stopped using Apple products, no freedom of choice.
