I own a Savage2000 video card, and absolutely everything I currently use - SOF, CS, NOLF you name it run beautifully dead smooth. I badly want Max but it says in the tech area that it doesn't support Savage2000 based cards. Using reference drivers one of my friends got Max going OK on a Savage4. I don't understand why it would go on a Savage4 and not a Savage2000 considering the Sav2k is a generation ahead and is a much faster/better card.

Oh well, has anyone figured out some sort of a fix yet? Has anyone written some sorta mini-driver?

My system is an old slot-A Athlon 800, 256mb, K7-133 Apollo chipset, SB Live Value, 64MB Savage2000 Diamond Viper II card running generic Savage2000 chipset drivers from Savage News (http://www.savagenews.com/drivers/s3/savage2000.html)

Umm, can't think of anything else that would help. I really don't want to buy a new card as everything else goes great images/icons/smile.gif

UPDATE: I just found some people who have been able to get their Savage2000 card (various models) working nicely with Max. They are using some tweaked drivers, plus a few tricks to run it well, but alas they have got it working with the Savage2000. I shall now go out and buy the game. Oh BTW the url with the help (almost forgot images/icons/wink.gif Savvy2000 help!
