View Full Version : I can't use the cheats. Is it Vista?

I have everything set up right with the -developerkeys. I can alter my skin. However, the ~ button does nothing during play. Is it because I'm using Vista or is there something else I can do. Thank you ahead of time. :)

I believe you need to put it like this -developer -developerkeys.... That's the way, man.

"-developer" is the one that let's you get in the console..

Thank you, Dan. I have tried that, but will try again. Does anyone else know if there is something else that could be causing this?

Lefty X: do you have a mce remote connected? disconnect it (the usb receiver) and try ~-key again ;)...

edit:
I have noticed this "mce-remote hijacks ~ in games"-effect in two games, Max and Oblivion...
did a google search http://www.google.nl/search?q=mce+remote+tilde+key that confirms it too...
tilde not working in games with the remote receiver plugged in...

Mine looks like a small black box connected to an usb port, it is the receiver for the ms mce-remote. But other brand 'Microsoft certified MCE remotes' may also be affected.

Mouse should not be a problem, it only happens with the media center remote control dongle.

I've tested it with an original Microsoft one and with a hauppauge ms-certified media center remote.

I'm sorry, you literally mean a remote control, not a wireless device. No, I do not have one of those.

When exactly am I in "developer mode?" Anytime I am playing the game with -developer attached? I never saw the string of code that I'm supposed to when the game is loading.

well I would define being in developer mode as being able to bring up the console in game. that is what you want to do right?

As he said (but more clear), the key to bring up the console is F12, not tilde.

the F12 key is with max1,
~ is the key to use with max2
