Ah... Duh, It does save to the hard drive. I was only thinking memory because a friend of mine built the exact same system but his doesn't pause after saving... I've watched him play. Actually the only difference between my system and his is that I have 256 of DDR memory and his has 196 or SDR and his processor is only 1 GHZ not 1.3GHZ like mine. Our hard drives are exactly the same! Does this happen for other people or is mine the only one that freezes for a sec after a save. How come my friends doesn't!? It just doesn't make sense... But thanks for your help... images/icons/smile.gif
Mine does the same, not really a problem I think.
Most people around here have bigger issues

For some reason when saving the game... with the Quick Save button... F5, after displaying Game Saved the whole game pauses for about 2 seconds before resuming. Not like when you really pause the game with the P button but just locks up and then unfreezes. I have Crucial 256MB DDRAM so I don't think its the memory, I've never had a problem with that before. Everything in my system is brand new... I just built it but here's the specs if you can find something wrong with them:
AMD Athlon 1.33GHZ (266FSB)
Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB AGP
ASUS A7A-266 Thunderbird ALI MB motherboard
Western Digital 20GB ATA-100 (7200RPM)
Sound Blaster 128 PCI Sound Card
Crucial 256MB DDRAM

I think this is normal, I dont think its a problem! When you do a quicksave, it saves to the Hard disk. This is what causes the short pause in the game, untill the hard drive has finished been written to, the game freezes.

The brief "freeze" you are experiencing actually comes from taking the screenshot for the savegame. Eg, the smaller the resolution you play in, the faster the saving is.
You experience a similar brief delay when you press Esc to get to the menu's (since you can save the game there, we take a screenshot always when you go to the menu's).
So it's not a problem in your system, it's just the way the game works. Hopefully this clears you up on the situation!

But thanks for sending an offical response I'm glad to know you care enough to help clear even minor things up! BTW: Great game, I just beat it today!
