Click on the video player on the side. It isn't the full song, just a small clip at the beginning and a small clip about three quarters of the way through. Sounds badass if you ask me, but I am a little biased. ;)

Edit:

Some artwork for the song:

Hm not too impressive but then again the clips were small, I'd have to hear the full song. I'm not really a fan of solos and all taken out of context.

Yeah, I listened to this while back in the fan club, sounded nice! It's only one song, but certainly it isn't SLOW by any means. Small taste doesn't reveal the whole package.

Supposedly the whole song is going to be up for download shortly. Also, the new album is titled "Endgame".

There might a higher resolution version somewhere, I dunno.

Doesn't really look that spectacular, the "MEGADETH" and "Endgame" texts don't really fit in and what's up with the weird frame-like thing? The drawing (or whatever you want to call it) itself is cool though :)

There are a few "leaked tracks" online.. Not sure if they're real because it's of instrumental songs. Did find the title track and it sounds like Megadeth alright.. sounds pretty good!

MegaMustaine
08-19-2009, 01:39 PM
The instrumental is not real. It is by a band called Deadxhead. The title track however is very much real.

Sang

I found two instrumentals.. and I had a feeling at least one of them was fake, it didn't sound very Megadethish at all.

MegaMustaine

There is also an instrumental for the Bodies Left Behind on youtube, but it is actually a fan made tribute. Besides, BLB is not an instrumental.

Sang
09-16-2009, 07:15 AM
Yeah but I'm gonna have to wait a couple more weeks before I'll be able to grab a physical copy :( But I guess what I have now will hold me over until then.

Gave it all another listen this morning.. Really there's only one song on it that I completely dislike which is "The Hardest Part of Letting Go". A love ballad. Most of the times, I hate it when metal bands do love ballads. Metal love ballads are like sewer levels in games.

The one on Endgame was no exception. I haven't heard any memorable, original guitar riffs (then again I can't bring myself to listen to it for longer than a minute)... lyrics are piss-poor, vocals are brought in the typical half-growling Mustaine style which doesn't suit it at all...

So yeah, "The Hardest Part of Letting Go" is a misplaced, awkward, poor song if you ask me. Thankfully all other songs are either completely awesome or at least have some really cool shit in them.

Dialectic Chaos actually did turn out to be the 2-minute epic instrumental we were promised (or perhaps I'm easy to impress).

This Day We Fight! is basically a warmup. It's nothing more than a quick thrash metal song but it manages to make you want to hear more.

Main course starts at 44 Minutes, which features some predictable "epic" riffs and vocals that are cheesy as **** (then again, usually the case with Dave, so), but all in all it manages to be really awesome song.

1,320 - Didn't think too much of it at first but I really like it now. Has some really nice riffs that come together quite well.

Bite The Hand, Bodies and How The Story Ends are three tracks that aren't really too special, I guess one could compare them to the typical "filler" but that's not entirely correct. These three tracks do have some really nice riffs (like almost all of the songs on Endgame, really) coupled with a bit of catchiness.

Head Crusher is a fantastic thrash metal song.

Endgame - the title track - is completely awesome. No questions asked.

The Right To Go Insane isn't that fantastic but I do like the chorus. Not really a fantastic albumcloser though, it's a bit abrupt.

My favourite tracks (first to last):

1) Endgame
2) Head Crusher
3) 1,320
4) Dialectic Chaos
5) 44 Minutes
6) The Right To Go Insane
7) Bite The Hand
8) Bodies
9) This Day We Fight!
10) How The Story Ends
11) The Hardest Part of Letting Go... Sealed With A Kiss

Great album :)

How The Story Ends is very good song in my opinion, it's more in vein of the newer Megadeth material in that sense. I'm fan of both, older and newer stuff.

Broderick is superb, Mustaine is superb, LoMenzo is superb and Shawn is superb. Top notch playing on the record. A lot of those riffs are damned fast.

I haven't listened to Megadeth since Rust in Peace. Still haven't had a reason to. Getting old is a bitch, and it seems to catch on rock starts pretty damn fast.

Except it isn't. It lacks the energy of old Megadeth as well as that particular sense of continuous forward development characteristic of thrash music, where the underlying rhythmic pulse gains increasing amounts of momentum while underscoring an overarching architecture build over simple but effective harmonic blocks. Sometimes this technique reached almost symphonic proportions, such as in several early Metallica songs. Modern Megadeth lacks this entirely and follows a typical pop format, which i personally find rather boring. There's no "thrashing" going on anymore.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion  Fancy word with very little content, and in my opinion you are wrong. Endgame has few really good thrashy songs like: Head Crusher, Dialectic Chaos, This Day We Fight, so yeah, you can leave now :)

Modern Megadeth follows a typical pop format

If by "typical pop format" you mean the "verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge" structure then Megadeth has adopted to some extent but that's where the similarities between Megadeth and "typical pop" end. To claim it's no longer thrash metal at all seems silly.

Typical pop format? If you're referring to what Sang said, then I don't know if you were living under a rock or something, as the Verse -> Chorus -> Verse format has been in Thrash for a loong time.

The more I read your posts throughout the forum, the more I think you're just trolling. Honestly. Have you even bothered listening to the album?

This Day We Fight! has more Thrash in it than the entire album of Death Magnetic.

Taking This Day We Fight! and looking at it as a single track isn't good, as it's meant to be a direct transition from Dialectic Chaos. In fact, here's a video that shows exactly what I'm talking about by putting the two songs together: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGuhziU_dzc

There's also Head Crusher which was released a little while ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BohJHfPlHnY

Listen to the second half of Endgame: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVvyqDkOs1E

Of the major Thrash bands that are still playing today, Testament is the only one (obviously excluding Megadeth) that is staying true to the Thrash formula.
