. . .besides Call of Duty, Operation Flashpoint, or ArmA. I've tried them and enjoyed them for the most part, but I need something new. Anybody have any suggestions?

You could try America's Army. It's free.

You could try Delta Force. That used to be quite the standard in military shooters back when I was in highschool.

Brothers in Arms

Tried them? If not I would strongly suggest them, all three are great... but, IMO, Hell's Highway is easily the best of the series. They nailed the cinematic story telling and really made a gripping, gritty and emotional war themed shooter.

I tried the earlier ones and wasn't too impressed. Then I rented Hell's Highway and absolutely loved it.

Only ones I enjoyed were Frontline and Heroes 1 & 2. I used to like Allied Assault but I hate it now.

I missed a few of the games after MoH: Underground, which was superb IMO. I never got into Allied Assault, and I have Airborne, which is alright for what it is.

the battlefield series is pretty amazing. Battlefield 2 being the best, 2142 is pretty good too. Battlefield 3 is in the making right now.

Yeah, I have BF: Bad Company, but only because it's focused on single player. I'm not really interested in multiplayer games. I got hooked on CoD: Modern Warfare's multiplayer, and I'd like to avoid getting obsessed like that again

Battlefield is an odd one. Personally, I hate them... damn near all of them. I haven't tried Bad Company, but given how little I like the previous titles... I haven't been very interested in trying it.

Give the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) series a try.
Similar in setting as Modern Warfare except it's a lot easier to die. A lot more tactical, but no planning like the RB6 series. Much slower pace as well. Choose your loadout as well as your teams' and execute.
I still think the first GRAW is one of the best shooters I've played in a couple years.

So they're actually good games eh? Just saw Hell's Highway for $9.99 at Zellers. Do they need to be played in order, or are they separate stories? I think I'll go pick it up right now.

I tried GRAW, and I'm not sure how I felt about it. Maybe I'll give the demo another try.

I enjoy them, specially Hell's Highway. The first two can be a little tedious at times... and the story isn't told in the best manor... but it works.
It's Hell's Highway where they really nailed it. From combat to story telling... it's fantastic.

And to get the full impact of the story, it's better to play all three in order. But, you can still pick up Hell's Highway and enjoy it by itself.

Seconded.

Bought Hells Highway a while back and enjoyed it very much. There’s a few annoying things like the not so destructible environment, but as far as tactical shooters go it’s great fun - especially the section in the rain.

Crysis

A bit on the sci-fi side but it does have a cool military theme.
