Thriller

So I bought a projector and now have this huuuge screen that im really proud of, and of course im doing the smart thing and buying a ps3 instead of a seperate blueray-player.
Im going to buy acrobatic..supersonic....battle... whatever. Cars. And im going to buy like nhl and fifa. Other than that, I dont know yet.
The screen is a giant, and the sound system is great, so I suppose it would be fun to have some action-type game.
What are the must buys for the system?

Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted, Dead Space.

Yeah, check Dead Space out, especially if you have a nice sound system. Killzone 2 is one of the prettiest games on the system, so that should be worth it too.

About cars, btw. If you want to try a co-op car game then buy Burnout Paradise. The game is awesome. Buy it online, it doesn't cost much.

Killzone2 and Ratchet & Clank. I also recommend playing Bomberman or Worms
with some friends on the projector.;) also lots of seasick fun is playing spacesim games but i dont know any for the ps3.
Btw what projector are you using? is it FullHD?
I`m using a LED projector, one of those small things. It has not the biggest
or brightest screen but its very silent and the LEDs last longer than normal
Lamps.:)

Uncharted, without question.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! Kepp them coming. :)
Batman will probably be really cool to play.

Infocus x9. Its definatly in the budget range, but for its price its simply awesome. When im typing this im actually projecting directly on a wall (that have flowers on it), about 2.5-3 meters wide and it looks great anyway.
I HIGHLY recommend this thing if you are on some kind of budget and want a big screen. Its really strong and produce great colours. Pretty much looks like a giant plasma-screen. Its only downsides are really 720p, a lousy controller (seriously), and if you are a fanatic I guess you miss some functions (but if you are not this is great since its 100% plug-n-play). If you want the same quality and full hd you pretty much have to pay four times the money, so that definatly didnt feel worth it for me. Specialy not for the first purchase.
Bought a grey screen (dynamogrey 106") that should do wonders for it but havent hooked it up yet. Grey screens are said to be great with these types of projectors.
All in all I pay like 1.6k$ including screen and ps3, wich in your countries probably is like 1k$ (sweden is wierd, our ps3 alone goes for like 500$!).
Sorry for OT in my own thread. Just that its probably the coolest tech-thinig I ever bought (rocked a 32" TV before ;) ).

Also, got another idea, those of you that feel you have time:
when you rec. a game it would rock if you typed some things about it and maybe posted a few screens/links or something.
Thing is Ive been pretty out of the gaming world as a whole the last year so a lot of games I´ve probably never heard of.

God of war 3 coming soon, not soon enough though. Dead space 2 in the near future, first was excellent but one part really ticked me off (The cannon part where you shoot the giant rocks).

But listen to this you spoiled americans: I payed over 500$ for the console alone! :D
I have a question about it though. I asked for Slim but it doesnt look very slim and it doesnt say Slim on the box (from what I can see).
It does however look pretty good and its 120gb. So it should be slim though? Or do they sell the regular at 120gb as well?

Does it say "PS3" on the console itself instead of "Playstation 3?"

About dead space, I cant figure out if I have the right resolution. It looks great, but my character is pretty far to the left of the screen. Is it supposed to be like that or am I missing part of the screen?

Isaac is supposed to be off-centered. Standing to the left of the screen, giving you an "over the shoulder" look. It actually works really well for third person games.

Fat Princess (http://ps3.ign.com/objects/142/14266745.html) is a great online game. The wonderful art direction throws you off once you see one of those little guys explode in a bloody mess :D.
It's basically capture the flag, with the princess being the flag. The catch is, you can feed cake to your captive princess, which makes her fatter and, in turn, harder for the other team to carry. There's a lot of strategy involved, so if you're on a team that isn't communicating, you won't win. There are some other modes too, but it's mostly multiplayer.

Great, Ill download that, saw it on ps-shop. Bought battle cars and monsters. Both great. :D
Tonight I gave deep space the first real play. On about a 110" screen (sitting pretty close to it), and headphones and.. I dont know if I can do that in the middle of the night anymore. Didnt get far. Fixed a machine with two "hands", if you know where that is.
Then when I came back, already sweating a bit, sitting on needles, now things where crawling. Above me. In the roof. I think I saw a foot or something. Was just expecting it to jump me in exactly the wrong time (this game is good at that it seems) so I decided that was that, I Ill give it another go tomorrow. :D Dont know if I can play with headphones anymore.

Siren: Blood Curse may tickle your fancy. I loved it personally, but it didn't seem to click with others. There's a free demo on PSN anyway if you wish to check it out.

I almost bought a PS3 (Slim) last night, but I backed off cause I didnt really know what I'd play on it. When I have additional money for a couple games I just may go back and get one :)

When the console first came out, it was $600 and the possibility of getting mugged and killed. We might be spoiled, but we live dangerous lifes on a constant daily basis.....specially if you work at a gas station or in the city.

What? You have a screen bigger that yourself, but your audio system is headphones? Dead Space is fabulous in 5.1.

What? You have a screen bigger that yourself, but your audio system is headphones? Dead Space is fabulous in 5.1.Yeah the audio became secondary somehow. Mostly becuase I splitt the apartment with a friend and he has an awesome soundsystem, so I figured I´d go with that for movies and stuff and headphones when im in my room. For now.
Know any way to get a cheap and good sound-system? Becuase Im not really the guy to pay over 500$ for the sound alone. Its just something about is that seems wrong.
...
About america though, yeah I live in the most harmless place in sweden right now I think (norrköping, going away though, dont know where yet), allways figured Id be a bit afraid at night in parts of the US. Guess I´ll find out since im probably going there sometime this year.
And about beeing spoiled, im personally spoiled as hell beeing a student and still buying these kinds of things without any major hassle. Sure its my money and I work for it, but looking at the other students here that tries to live of like 1k$/month they´d kill to be able to support themselves like this. In the light of my fellow students, a few 100$ to much for the PS3 just dont seem that bad. :D

If you like Tactical games (X-Com, Fallout Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics, Jagged Alliance, etc) then I recommend Valkyria Chronicles, as long as Japanese Anime doesn't bug you of course.
Check out Prince of Persia (http://images.chron.com/blogs/gamehacks/e3-2008-prince-of-persia-4-screens-20080715053150813%282%29.jpg) - Easily the best looking game of this generation imo.
Other recommendations:
Assassins Creed
Gran Turismo 5:Prologue
Condemned 2: Bloodshot
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

So ok, dead space actually made me cry.
Moved really close to the screen, so the screen is pretty much the only thing I see. Dont know how healthy it is, but its fun.
Have had numerous shivers so far. I mean, so I hit a can sometimes and it rolls around on the metalic floor and makes this awesome sound, and it sounds just like someone with tiny, creepy feet is running straight towards me so I jump and nervously I spin the camera around and while I do it I keep seeing these awesome shadow-effects somwhere on the side of the screen that just emphasis the fact that someone actually is running towards me. And then I realize its just a shadow, but then I see something wierd again, and once again I hit that stupid can and jump even higher by the awesome but terrifying sound, and the music decides to go up a notch but after a while, I realize im alone.
But thats just the thing with this game. I realize im a stupid guy kicking cans around getting myself worked up and making all the sounds myself. Whenever I realize this, suddenly im not the one making the sound anymore.
And I noticed I got these really wierd shivers on my legs sometimes. Thats a great credit to this game. But then it really cought me of guard at one occasion, and afterwards I realized I had a tear in my eye. Thats just cool.
So thanks for that recommendation! Got it really cheap as well.

I can't really recommend an order, it depends on your tastes.
And about Gran Turismo 5, it's not out yet. Just the prologue (That's really lame compared to the final game, the prologue is kinda GT 4 with better graphics)
The prologue is a prologue, haha. Just an introduction.
And yeah, Tales of Vesperia is not available until the end of this month. Also Resident Evil 5.
