Like several others, I d/led and installed the orignal XP drivers a couple weeks ago. These drivers not only screwed with MaxED, but caused Max Payne to crash on me for the first time. You said you were aware of the problems the new drivers were causing, and were working with Nvidia to remedy the issues (no pun intended).
Do the lastest XP drivers just released address any issues that Max Payne might have had with the previous XP drivers? Or should I stick with the Detonator 3 drivers?

I tried the new official drivers (21.83) and had the same problems that the 21.81 caused. For now, I think I'll stick to the 12.90 drivers.

get the 21.85 at www.guru3d.com. (http://www.guru3d.com.) I found them much more stable and a bit faster than 21.81

Hmm. Strangely, both the 21.81s and 21.85s made max Payne freeze in less than 15 seconds after starting.
The 21.83s solved the problem for me. Now running smooth.

The 12.83 drivers fixes flashing and lockups for me. I have a VIA chipset and soundblaster live. Thq 12.41 and 12.90's gave me flashing and lockups. I will add that I was having lock up problems with the NFL 2002 demo before I installed these. I couldn't get passed the intro. Now there is a lockup once in a while but my kids played it last night for hours with no problems.
I should say that upon first installing them I did not ininstall the old ones completely, you can do this manually, see Geforce FAQ or use the Detonator Destroyer program which I used-fatman@guru3d.com. Upon clean install I can finally play this game.
