What’s the deal with Sound blaster live and max payne, I have seen lot’s of posts and many of them refer to this sound card as "the problem"
I have not been able to make max work, but I thought that may be this is the problem (joust a guess)
Thanks
I have a:
P III 930
320 ram
Ge Force2 Mx 32
Sound Blaster live 5.1
(a Blue screen appears with a vmm error, or the game joust locks up when loading)

Who makes your motherboard chipset? If it's via, then this is a notorious combination. Get the most recent via drivers.
Also, if you have on board sound as well as a sound card, make sure one of them is disabled.

Skull_G, try this:
Via Hardware (http://www.viahardware.com/download/index.shtm) and d/l the 4.34 Final. And are your both north- and southbridge Via? If not, youŽll have to install different AGP driver. In case you donŽt know, what motherboard you have?

Yes, both the North bridge and south bridge on this card is VIA. I had never heard of the card before, but I checked it up. I would recommend a more common card for a maximum performance and stability PC, like an ASUS... but this card doesn't seem like the worst though...
