Too bad it was an accident. All this is about is a disgruntled interest group trying to make a politician look bad.

Yeah, I considered that, but consider this. If it was intentional, do you think they'd ever admit it?

Of course this isn't accidental.

I'm sure you can work out the mathematical probability that that was an accident.
Funnily enough, I read a swedish novel about a week ago where someone did exatly that with those exact words, only with a longer document where the next lines made out the surname of the recipient.

Yeah, I considered that, but consider this. If it was intentional, do you think they'd ever admit it?
But what could they have said else, if it WAS an accident^^?
And concidere the possible fallout over stuff like that (creating a false veto, just to spite someone over a personal grudge, and be openly insulting seems a rather bad publicity move, the comedy set asside)
I declare this a shroedingers cat problem.
I know the human brain realy realy wants these things to be "on purpose", but thats statistics for you ^^
maybe its some aid's fault who thought they where clever and nobody would notice, don't realy know who actualy drafts the print. And if they fire a lowlevel imployee later, you can debate whether that was a fall..person or not ^^.
Yeah, lying and deception realy make our lifes easier ^^.

No they wouldn't, but what's more likely? A politician taking that kind of a risk, or a special interest group looking for an excuse to start screaming "Schwarzenegger is a gay-hater!"

This kind of thing reminds me of the Little Mermaid "dildo" controversy. After 10 minutes and a picture with the object circled, I was able to see the damned thing, but still thought claiming it was a dildo was rather dubious. Either way, it very quickly got me wondering... who is the bigger pervert? The artist who drew it, or the costumer who spotted it? Can we say Inkblot?

He can be obnoxious at times, and I think some of his behavior is unprofessional for a governor or political figure.

Well, the federal government gets loads of Californian tax dollars, so yes. Also, the San Francisco tech sector, Hollywood, and the Californian agricultural farmland are some examples of benefits that the state brings to the entire nation. :)

I agree. The budget is managed like ass, and I personally would not have voted for Arnold (even though I like him as an actor) for governor. But I would also argue that local, state, and federal governments as a whole have bureaucratic faults when it comes to budgets or anything political.

Correct. If someone wants something to be so, they're going to find a way to "prove" it, whether or not it's true. This "**** off" message is really no different from the Bible Code. It's just less elaborate.
A man can say, "I am destined by God to shoot that can out there." He then fires 49 shots, and misses every single time. On the 50th shot he finally hits it, starts jumping up and down and says, "See? There's the proof. God wanted me to shoot it!"

Folks, grow up, whether Arnold has composed this phrase on purpose or not may be of interest for the media, but does not matter. What matters is that he cares for his land and people and tried to make a point, which is being stubbornly, superficially and systematically neglected and rejected by the members of the Californian state assembly. All happy, shiny people. Still, I guess. http://www.usccb.org/cchd/povertyusa/map.htm

You know that would have actually affected John Mccain cause he legally isn't a natural born citizen cause he was born in Panama. I don't know how it is exactly enforced. Probably won't change till someone challenges the law. Of course unless they will get voted in office the law wouldn't change.

From a legal standpoint, that's unfeasible at the moment unless the presidency requirement for domestic birth has been repealed; however I think that with the consideration of the American view on foreigners or immigrants in a post-9/11 United States, amending the constitution (with a 2/3 pass!) will be a nearly impossible undertaking for Arnold, who, as ReadOnly pointed out, might be too old IF there ever is a presidency reform (and that's a big IF!).
Hyperactive Slob
11-02-2009, 11:54 PM
John McCain the thing about that is however not being a domestic birth but being a citizen from the day you were born is the thing. For example as I said John McCain isn't a domestic born citizen but he ran for presidency. The thing Arnold has against him is the fact that he became a US citizen at the age of 35.

Arnold was not!

McCain was born inside a U.S. territory. The Coco Solo Naval Air Station is as domestic as Hawaii and Alaska are.
Not exactly if he was born in the military base yes it would have been natural but according to his birth certificate he was born in the Panamanian city of Colon.
The city of Colon was outside the US administered Canal Zone and remained Panamanian territory throughout the existence of the Panama Canal Zone.[40][41][42][43] A brief birth announcement in The Panama American stated that the birth had taken place at "the Submarine Base Hospital." [44][45] The former unincorporated territory Panama Canal Zone and its military facilities were not regarded as United States territory.
Although wiki isn't that credible it is cited.
Yatta
11-03-2009, 12:37 AM
Well, the legislature clearly treated it as U.S. territory or McCain simply would not have been an eligible candidate.
BTW, in case I'm wrong about the base being considered domestic, it was still treated as U.S. territory to the same extent that American embassies in foreign countries are permissible grounds for being born into as a U.S. citizen.

The US constitution calls for a natural born citizen, so I guess it depends on how that's been interpreted. I remember hearing that you have to be a US citizen born on US soil (or in a US military base or something).
Yes, you must be a natural born US citizen. "Where" you're born depends on whether it is on american soil or not.
