A new interview popped up:

I liked the first one so I'm looking forward to getting this. Especially with the changes.

Their level editor is sounding pretty cool.

This looks good, I loved the first game. Originally this was supposed to use the Source engine but apparently they opted to design their own.

Expectations for this game are high, I'll keep an eye on it without question.

Awesome concept on paper, awful to play. All it takes is one dumb commander and it screws up the game for 10 people. It was like that in Savage and we know how well that turned out.

They should make it like Counterstrike and TF2. Cut out the commander and that resource management nonsense. Just make two teams with different classes and abilities.

i actualy thought the first one was fun, even though i prefered to play aliens for the exact same reason. loved the resource part though^^.
since people generally don't like to play these kind of creatures to much (in our AVP lans back then i was the only guy REALY liking the alien) it wasn'T much of a problem.

But on the other hand , NS was "free", so i reserve the same notion for Ns2 i had for the dota clones...

Read the interview. They mention the bad balancing and their intent to do better with NS2.

I'm pretty excited about this, NS was my all-time favourite Half-life mod... too bad I suck at it :p

Then you take away why the game's uniqueness and the reason why people loved playing it in the first place.

Yep until recently they only had 1 programmer, yet they wrote their own engine with their own renderer, level editor, etc.

Played NS a few times but it just wasn't my cup of tea, I'm not really a big fan of games where you can die almost instantly.
